How well does the coin stay in the wrap? If it holds well, I have several coins and cabochons that this would be perfect for.

After dipping it in the hot water it does hold securely, as in if I shake it it doesn't fall out. But of course if you push on the coin from the side it can still come out of the knot.

Maybe if you can go a cross between coin with fishing line, it maybe sturdy.

I'm very sure it will work in any constellation as long as the diameter of the cord used will support the width of the coin that's gonna be wrapped. Plus, the thinner the item gets that you want to wrap, the better it will hold in place. As in: as long as the cord is thick enough , the diameter of the coin or object shouldn't matter. Important is the thickness of the object relative to the thickness of the cord. Make sure, the thickness of the cord is at least about the same as the thickness of the item to be wrapped (if not more) and you're most probably gonna be good.

I can't seem to keep the coin in the hole. It just keeps falling off.

how secure is the coin in that? would it be secure enough that you could say...modify this setup to make a bracelet for wearing a lucky coin as jewelry?

Unfortunately it's not super secure. I think if anything pushes on the coin from the side with a decent amount of force, the coin will come out.

The Coin is not that tight in the ring. What you can do? Get another pair of hands. One holds the coin, the other tightens the knot. Is it not tight enough, untie one knot and start over. Next hot water OR superglue... with superglue it feels like the coin never comes out
