He looks like an indigo! South Africa is one of the few places that you can easily read up on the snakes and it's very cool to see the convergent evolution. We have a version of alot of the non-venomous ones in the states.

Tanny Cape cobras are yellowish or black with yellow spots, the colour would have gave it away
