The item is probably the "Fasta Pasta" or something similar! It's just a long, thick plastic container (think spaghetti noodle length). You put in however many servings of noodles you want and the appropriate amount of water according to the container directions. Then you just microwave and drain and boom. Pasta! I got one for my brother when he went to college because he wasn't allowed a hot plate in the freshman dorm, and he was sharing a single stove top in the common area with a crap ton of students. Like a whole floor of students. The pasta is definitely worse quality than regular (like anything microwaved vs other methods), but if you are a student like that or someone who doesnt have the time/patience to cook with a stove and pots and all that jazz then it's a handy little addition to the kitchen! He was also a college athlete, so being able to cook carb heavy pasta in his microwave was super helpful (and saved money because the school's shitty food was so expensive and bad lol).

@Lanyan Translations Thanks for subbing!! I laughed so hard when I heard that Sawashiro gifted Ucchi one of these. To me, it's such a stereotypical mom/older sister thing to give to a young person first moving out on their own, so it makes me wonder if she might have been thinking similar to me in the "maybe this will encourage him to cook" way 😂

for some reason, my house doesn't have a microwave (idk why my mum is so reluctant about using it), so whenever i hear stories about other ppl using microwaves other than heating the food, i'm easily impressed TT like u can actually cook pasta in it?! like how convenient is that? i want a microwave of my own someday!

As a person who grew up without a microwave, same But with the amount of "don't put this / don't put that into the microwave or it'll explode" kind of stories that I've heard I'm actually scared to even own one simply because I have no idea on how to use it 😂

Well usually I use the microwave to reheat foods that have been cooked.. So I don't know if it's safe or good to cook using microwave😂
