Hello. I'm 58 and never been on a surfboard in my life. Never followed the surfing scene. Have no idea why I was brought to this clip. But this is a brilliant idea and a marvel to watch. I wish them the very best and hope it brings so much joy to the lives of many people.

Hello from Sweden! I am a editor, videographer and segment producer working at the Swedish public service television company, for 12 years now. This is very, very good! The handcraft, storytelling, the editing, filming and the interactions with the people. Its so many good layers. Its very hard to do make content for the broad audience that´s, in this case, not surfing but this is so well done so that becomes intersting for everybody. The people you are meeting are amazing and you can feel the connection between you "the TV host" and the "guests" You are genuine, funny and you can almost touch that feeling. Love the ending, feels like when youre having breakfast with the entire lineup från weird waves S1. Also in this harsh world and sometimes egocentric world, we need these films or "shows" to show some kindness and happiness in the world. That we have 1 planet and the best we can do is to share it as a friendly herd. Thank you and the crew for this and hope to see more, this made me smile!

No wonder Aussies are so cool! After a day of crappy surfing, one of them said "I have an idea!" And came up with THIS!! Epic!

Indeed ! A bit of a space race thing going on but cool to see and definitely all of em are fun to surf

After driving past it for several years seeing it not just operational but the closest thing to a real shore break manufactured by man in the world is awesome. Occy and Co should be super pleased with this and I can't wait to see it on TV hosting surfing championships in the near future

wave machines normally give me the creeps. the systems they use just freak me out. but this one just seems so chill, like you can see the whole mechanism and it just makes sense and I think that just takes away the scary side of it for me.

Super happy to see this finally coming together up around my old stomping ground. Awesome stuff!

Rewatched this a few times now, and it always puts a big smile on my face. Much love Dylan keep it up mate ❤

Thanks Dylan. Best Surf Lakes vid so far. I agree, there is something different about your vids. Your presentation is unique and totally fits your vibe. I am in awe that this actually exists (or existed). I’ve already asked to be on the waiting list for when the public pool opens after reconstruction. My ass will be flying from Hawaii to go surf this thing when it opens. 😂

Really like the videos and doco-styled production, featuring genuine people who appreciate surfing in a variety waves. Best of all presented from a surfer's perspective and no flogging useless "merch".

Ha.! I wear the exact same leather hat as old Pete.! My mum got it for me about 8 years ago & I wear it nearly every day, I liked it so much I bought another but they're so good it's still in the box. Unfortunately, because I live in the very very wet Scottish Highlands all the metal bits have actually rusted, the wire insert around the brim has disintegrated.! I definitely don't hold it against it though. Oh, I have & never will surf, I'm not built for it.. But I definitely do appreciate it. This lake is awesome.!

No, not Occy obviously. Hes a gumby. The only reason why he has this groupie status is because you guys act like sheep and follow each other into ANY accepted thought as long as others agree. You only said that because you want to be known by your peers that you are just like them. And on it goes... while Occy looks like a learner surfer doing uncoordinated rail digs and stands way too far back on his board.. Haha.

It’s an engineering marvel this thing. Apparently they patented a crazy underwater bolt that was bought and used by the military… pretty cool :)

These waves are pretty clearly superior to those of any other wave pool. Slater's wave pool in California would be the only challenger to the title, but the variety of waves on offer at Surf Lakes makes it the clear winner.

So happy you like it. It's a bit of a different concept compared to Kelly Salter's Surf Ranch.. Here in Perth we have an artificial reef that only seems to work one day in a thousand years. I believe we are getting a surf lake in 2024 which I hear will be the biggest in southern hemisphere.

I grew up in Yeppoon, and am good friends with ol Pete and his family , his kids and me went to school together,,, he used to take his son Ross and us surfing up the beach, up to five rocks and 3 rivers, down to Agnes , and the coast,,,,, Pete was also taught to shape boards by Chris Garrett that owned Phantom surfboards on the Gold Coast.......

Amazing Barrel Ocea, gotta be the best barrel of your short life i bet, what a smoker. From a coaching perspective I suppose a higher line towards the end of the tube couldve had you in there longer but thats to be picky and looking for areas to improve because I know you are driven to get better. That said I had never had a tube like that at your age so congratulations and thanks for your entry that could be a finalist for best barrel.
