Thamesdown Transport Dennis Dart SLF/Plaxton Pointer 2 WU52 YWK (206)
Today we take a ride on one of Thaesdown's older Darts on the 22 from Swindon City Centre to Okus Road, while travelling towards the Okus turn around point. The engine it carries reminds me of a VDL. However, unlike a fair number of VDLs, it is a good bash. The Thamesdown fleet is a smart, and well maintained. A few weeks before filming this video, the council sold the operation to the Go-Ahead Group's Go South Coast division. The Okus turn around is very good for photos and I recommend you catch the 22 out to it, as it is a half hourly frequency and you can easily walk to another route. 206 carries the name Hercules. oh how i miss that sound!!!
Thamesdown darts were very well maintained, not much suffered during their life unlike the other ones like First Group.
I miss those buses. They were very powerful. But the E200 mmcs (the buses replaced the darts) sound very similar

Not really, it’s just the voith, I miss these darts a lot.

This must be an 11.3m example as it has a Cummins ISB5.9 engine and Voith gearbox. The VDL SB200 did indeed have this same driveline (with a different engine map) from 2002-2006. 2007 onwards ISB6.7 engined examples will sound similar as they retain the Voith gearbox

They were some amazing darts.
These buses were so good. Thamesdown should of kept them running and refurbish the inside aswell as putting them in the new livery
Most of the thamesdown darts had LED tail lights on them
I think it is supposed to be SPD dart because they have a voith gearbox option.
