I love what allt's doing in this EP and as you said, seeing a 7+ min prog song on a full length from these boys would be sick af, I've still been listening to Masstaden (forte)/Masstaden under vatten a bunch so hearing something close to their style is great to see, as well as a great way to change up the metalcore scene. Moistly just happy to see some more thall/thall influenced stuff coming out and hope it continues and influences some more bands to experiment with it as well as bring more people into bands like Vildhjarta/HLB/Atlas/etc and maybe even deathmetal

Suffocating in the outer atmosphere or drowning underwater, Allt creates both wonderfully broad and incredibly unnerving senses of space. I'd imagine that claustrophobic and agoraphobic people would find this music to create similar senses of anxiety, if they thought too hard about it. There's a density and a breadth to their soundscapes that all aspects of their delivery adds to, and the end result is meatier than many of their contemporaries. The layering is one aspect, the time signatures are another, but it's taking the songs in the context of each other that shows their greatest strength: an almost defiant level of versatility. Really happy you went full EP. Like Knocked Loose, the parts can be great but the whole is fantastic.

I know no one likes a downer, but I think the EP sounds pretty generic. I feel like this flavor of atmospheric progressive metalcore has been well-trodden for several years now. Impressively polished for such a young band though! Still enjoyed it, and always glad to hear a new band getting buzz, just hope the next release is a bit more unique.

There are contemporaries that you could put them beside, but give an example and I can show you where they diverge. The issue with being too eclectic is that no one can follow it. No one ends up understanding it. So when it's played live, there's no momentum, no direction, it's mostly (moistly) played out for a shock factor. Being different is great IF it makes sense. IF it sounds good. And to be honest with you, you could say something that's unique and someone could show you a band that's already done it. And maybe you haven't heard it because it wasn't very good 🤷
