Thailand Elephant Sanctuary - What You Should Know - Bangkok to Kanchanaburi
Want more RW4U? Check out my website here: retiredworkingforyou.com/
What is a Thailand Elephant Sanctuary? And what makes an ethical elephant sanctuary? Take a road trip from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi and visit one of the best elephant sanctuaries in Thailand. See what it is like swimming with elephants, in this elephant jungle sanctuary, and even get up close with a baby elephant.
Today's Thailand vlog takes you with me as I visit Elephants' Home and Nature, a place where you can visit elephants but they do not actually consider themselves a sanctuary. In fact, Khun Tong (the owner), speaks very candidly about the topic of elephants in captivity and so-called sanctuaries.
This channel is about adventure and experiencing new things. Your opinion may differ from mine and if so, I'd love to hear about it in the comments. I do know that Khun Tong, Khun Bank, and all other staff here dedicate their lives to the magnificent elephants that they live with.
If you are interested in visiting this place, you can contact Khun Tong directly through their Facebook link here: / elephantshomeandnature
(Just tell her that you heard about her place on my video and she will take VERY good care of you)
Here is a Google Map Pin so you can easily find Elephants' Home and Nature: goo.gl/maps/k6is5thm3vgS3cYV6
Please share this video with anyone you know who loves elephants!
And as always, the destination is great but the journey is half the fun!

P that was awesome. Can't believe you rode a bike all the way there. What an adventure and a very cool place. 👍 to hut #2. Thanks for the ride.
My now wife and I traveled by bike to kanchanaburi from Bangkok when it was 44 degrees! Yikes. We found a huge cave on a mountain. A waterfall with fish that nibble on you and visited the ww2 railroad museum. Next up baan chaang!
Thank you for the information. Those are really amazing elephants.

Hey there, thanks a ton for the comment. It's much appreciated. The elephants were indeed pretty awesome!
firstly another beautiful video secondly your rental bikes looks like my old bike which was a honda Integra 700cc
Dude, this is such an awesome place and we want to visit! I love how genuine this group is. I'm just now subscribing, but my wife and I watch your videos on our TV most of the time! So I figured I'd jump on my laptop here so I could comment. We are planning to visit Thailand again next year, and soon after plan to stay there for several months (toying with the idea of moving there!)

You should!
I would have chosen #2 cabin too! When I got to feed elephants in Thailand, they always grabbed the food with their trunks. I have never seen anyone feed directly into their mouths! I am a little jealous I didn't get to experience that! I love that they say it is not a sanctuary, it is home. Warms my heart! Thanks for taking us with you to this beautiful place. I hope that the Covid situation allows me to travel back to Thailand sooner than later. Until then, I will live vicariously through you!

I definitely would go for 2 if solo but that deck in #3 seems like a great place to have a beer with your friends!

I think that this was one of my favourite vids that you have done. They are such majestic creatures and we have been lucky enough to spend time with both Indian and African elephants. Elephants home has def gone on the list of places to visit next time I am in Bangkok. So you say Starbucks is a no go but you still go to Timmy's, is this double standards!!- I think that they should both be blacklisted although Cafe Amazon is also a massive state owned concern so maybe we should add that too and support the small artisinal guys
Very good
Amazing 🤩 video and next time only Amazon coffee ☕

Another masterpiece! "This ones for you, Timmy!" 5555. I loved the explanation the lady gave as to the connection to the elephants. Incredible and 100% on Amazon cafe! And hut #2! Apocalypse Now ref..."what an idiot" hahaha. Outstanding.

Hey Chris we (louise and I) chose option 3. Kwai Cabin...to be honest either one looks great dude.
Great video very interesting thank you Chris you’re mad
I agree with the hut hunter, number two for me! Did you put prices? I was already typing before I thought of looking below.
The Horror, Loved the elephants.
A tip: when the lady explained why the elephant had the rope collar, it would have been very useful for you to paraphrase what she explained so we viewers would understand it. I watched it a couple of times carefully and finally got it, but it's definitely not so easy. You could fix that easily during editing :).

I'm jealous as all hell, wish I could go there. We visited NP a few years ago, the Thai Human Imagery Museum on the way back to Bangkok is fun. I would have picked number 2 as well : )

The correct pronunciation of the River Kwai is "Quare" - just like the word "care". Kwai means Buffalo in Thai.
Hahaha I love your enthusiasm xD I'm a coffee lover, so I've to see how the Thai Starbucks is. BUT I wanna go to every coffee store in Bangkok. Actually that'd be a great video if you could do it. Go to the best coffee stores there 🙈 Anyway, kisses from Argentina 🤗💜🇦🇷
