Thailand Day 4: Koh Samui Island's Ferry and Roadside Adventures! 🌴🏍️
Day 4: Koh Samui Island's Ferry and Roadside Adventures! 🌴🏍️
Rise and shine, fellow travelers! On our fourth day in Thailand, Shivangi and I bid farewell to our cozy hostel and embarked on an early morning adventure to Suvarnabhumi Airport.
Since we had some spare moments, we explored the airport, curious to see what it had to offer. Our taste buds led us to Burger King, where we discovered a delightful surprise-a plant-based meat burger! Yes, you read that right. Even as vegetarians, we indulged in this delicious and sustainable alternative. A scrumptious way to kickstart our day!
Boarding the plane for our one-hour flight, we did not anticipate the in-flight meal. However, being vegetarians, we politely declined the chicken pie that was served along with a cup of coffee. Thankfully, the scenic views from the window kept us entertained throughout the journey.
Upon arrival at Surat Thani Airport, we swiftly collected our ferry tickets to the stunning Koh Samui islands. As we waited for the shuttle, we stumbled upon intriguing vending machines and couldn't resist grabbing an iced chocolate caramel drink. The automated process left us fascinated!
Boarding the shuttle, we arrived at Donsak district's ferry point, where we eagerly awaited our island adventure. After a short 20-25 minute wait, we hopped aboard the ferry, ready to explore Koh Samui. Our stop was the first of three locations the ferry would cover, offering us scenic views and refreshing sea breezes along the way.
Our ticket conveniently included a cab drop-off to our breathtaking resort, Crystal Bay Yacht Club. With a warm welcome, we checked in and took a moment to rejuvenate. Hunger beckoned, and we found ourselves indulging in a satisfying meal of fried rice and aromatic Tom Kha at the hotel's restaurant-pure bliss for our taste buds!
As nightfall embraced the island, we decided to immerse ourselves in the local culture. Renting a shiny green scooty, we hit the roads of Koh Samui, enjoying the freedom and adventure it brought. A rejuvenating Thai massage was a must along the way, followed by stops at Seven Elevens for some delightful treats.
Our final meal of the day was a unique experience-an unassuming hut by the side of a road in the middle of nowhere. There, we savored a delicious feast, savoring the flavors of local cuisine while immersing ourselves in the enchanting surroundings.
