I recently went to Thailand (my first time), and I accidentally entered the area for meant for non-Indian, non-Chinese... passengers. After seeing that I was in the wrong place, I went to the correct place. There they asked me for 2,200 Baht. I was shocked by that, since I saw that the other area was not asking for money. This discrimination simply does not sit right with me: in one week I spent more money in Thailand than a westerner would in a month. And yet, I face this sort of discrimination. The MEA is a mountain of garbage, run by absolutely incompetent, corrupt and useless bureaucrats that only think of looting the Indian tax payer. Also, do not forget to carry enough cash when going to Thai immigration. I only had cards, and there was no ATM machine. I pleaded with other Indians there for 30 to 45 minutes that they could give me cash for the visa and I could do UPI to their account with more money than what they are giving me. NO. ONE. HELPED. So much for Indian nationalism, am I right? I could clearly see why the world thinks the way it does about us Indians. After going to the immigration officer more than 4-5 times, telling him that no one is willing to help, he realized that I was genuinely troubled, and he took me and one Chinese girl (I'm assuming) to the ATM. There he saw me withdraw 20,000 Baht (the highest value possible) and his demeanor towards me changed completely. It went from "oh these bl**dy broke Indians, coming to my country" to "oh, we are so sorry for the inconvenience sir. It take us time to deal with all the passengers, and that is why it took so long for us to take you to the ATM." 😂 At the end of the day, it's only your own money that can help you, no one else will, at least no Indian will.

No discrimination it's passport strength of different countries. Some country can travel to another country visa free but for Indians you have to pay the cost for visa on arrival. And poor travel planning on your end shouldn't be the responsibility of others.

It's not discrimination. That's already preset by the officials, the people working at the airport don't decide anything. It's highly dependent on the foreign relation between the two countries.

It happened also with me we were in group of 9… they charged 2200baht instead of 2000B, we have raised the issue then they took our passports & documents and misbehaved with us, and told us to wait then we went to the airport higher authority they talked about it in Thai lan. Then that officer told us to pay 2000B and visa department again asked for 2200B and after all that fights & finally we have paid 2200B each, so 1800B extra…. Worst experience and no one can tolerate this shits at 3 AM…

Yeh visa ka receipt hain, fast track ke 200 ka receipt Nahin hita hain. Ek aur cheez 500rske liye Rona sahin Nahin lagta. Jab hum khud 500rs ke toh bribe mein he deta - to govt officials, police etc

150x4=600 busbahut plus 170 baht =770 instead of that paid 1000 baht airport to your Pattaya hotel...

We faced this scam in 2017 though we had all the documents- just to avoid the queue we paid 200 baht extra, but we were clever in 2019, stood in the normal queue.😂😂😂

Its not true brother. Still Indian Passport holder has to pay 2000 BAHT for VISA ON ARRIVAL Fee.

Yesterday i came on bangkok airport and randomly police detained 15 indians including me and behaved very rudely without giving any explanation later i showed him my emirates id and then he allowed me to go.

I've been traveled thailand over 60 times never ever had any issue at all . Even since 1997 to until now. They are happily welcomed only wealthy tourists passport doesn't matter.

Charging 200 baht extra for Fast Track visa on arrival is not a scam. The immigration staff are not scamming it but is accounted for based on the number of visa issued. If you choose the normal line then you could be subjected to more scrutiny of documents and funds to support. Please don't spread news as scam. Every Indian seem to think it is a scam.

It happened to me in the early 80s as well. This has always been going on. At that time you can get Two Bhats for one Rupee. You can see how much the situation has changed in all aspects. Those days I kept ten singapore dollars inside my passport and submitted it for tourist visa.

Indian govt should issue some sort of warning on such countries where corruption is maximum and that will discourage Indian tourist to think 10 times on visiting such countries like Thailand, combodia

You should submit all the documents and video proof at the Thai embassy and officially lodge a complaint or atleast make them aware.

Just for the shake of video please don't convey wrong messages, first thing highlight your mistakes, you don't bring the sufficient amount of money and documents, if you have issues with additional 200 bhat, then why don't you take visa from India it is cheaper and can stay longer, but you know that they will ask lot of information which you don't want to provide, everything has price, they give you visa on arrival so respect that. Just for the shake of video thumb nail stop spreading wrong things.

Sorry but this is misleading....I recently travelled and used this option as it takes only 2 minutes....you have the option NOT to use this and walk few steps and use the regular Visa on Arrival section....it is a matter of convenience...personally I preferred paying 200 Thai baht extra...and they did not ask for anything except for return tickets
