Tha Carter 3: The Story Behind A Classic
By 2008, Lil Wayne truly took the throne of the rap game and was undoubtedly the best rapper alive. Tha Carter 3 which was released that same year, is considered Lil Wayne's magnum opus and due to the success of the album made him a global superstar. However, the road to this album wasn't pretty with material for the album being leaked in abundance along with other things. This album also leaves some people wondering if it truly is a classic or is a shell of what the original album could've been.

NOBODY was selling a million plus first week back in 2008. Everybody had limewire and datpiff had just started taking off. For him to do that then when even pop and country albums weren’t going platinum bc of piracy shows how everyone respected Wayne enough to go out and buy the CD. We knew it was a classic before we heard the first word. I bought it the day it came out. It was in a red case and the track listing on the back wasn’t right so it came with a paper insert with the correct track listing.
