His absurdity shows itself when you see half of your team charging mindlessly to their own death and you just "F**k this shit" and cover the entirety of the robots with milk non-stop to make sure you won't run in panic between your suicidal teammates and scream "This is insanity! Remember kids, for every sub class you have, there needs to be 2 classes doing their intended role, or else you're 1 team wipe away from a restart.

If there's ever going to be a part 3 somehow, I have another subclass not presented here. Bison Soldier. Surprisingly, the Righteous Bison has a use, and a purpose in MVM, since it can hit multiple times with a single shot, it can be effectively used as a tank destroyer, and it's still somewhat useful against regular robots. P.S Excessive Use of Crit Canteens is advised for best results

As a Bison soldier, I can confirm, it eats tanks for breakfast. A full upgraded bison gets full use of one krit canteen on a full clip, or most of a Kritz uber if your medic is cool. You're less effective on regular robots, but it's still enough to get away with.

@ It doesn't really matter, with how slow the Tank goes you can only get one or two more ticks of damage based on positioning. Optimally though yeah, you shoot it diagonally from behind. That said, shooting from in front of the tank can hit bots stuck behind it, which is a good bonus.

imagine if huntsman had that unique projectile penetration and explosive headshot. It'd be an interesting option I'd say. for trolldier? Market Gardener gets a damage buff and 'crits while midair deal 100% damage to all surrounding targets'

explosive market gardener /:) i mean, either that or you go full balls to the wall in terms of single target damage, 390 damage per market garden (assuming 4 +25% damage upgrades and guaranteed crits) really isn't that much damage, so perhaps we could have the damage increase based on your fall momentum aswell

But we leave the damage boost as a base increase, and the momentum boost as a multiplier, then the explosive can pass damage around but not the momentum boost. Up to 300% off the momentum sound good? (That’d make the single target strike deal 390 minimum, 1440 max) an upgrade that makes it crit when airborne for any reason, not just explosives Hell, we’re forgetting the goomba stomp. It’s calculation is ‘fall damage increased by 10, then multiplied by 3’ last I checked. So, a four stage booster that doubles that damage multiplier each stack (so 6x, 12x, 24x, 48x). So a strong goomba stomp could deal somewhere close to 2000 damage on a basic stomp, and close to 5000 on a super one. (Fall damage is about 15-50% max health based on momentum, so for soldier it’s 30-100, but the damage for the stomp would calculate 40-110) There’s ways to make it viable with the right buffs.

Give it Multishot or something, every upgrade adds an arrow to it with accuracy variation like a Pistol.... fully upgraded it's like a Shotgun styled arrow launcher With it's massive hitbox on the projectile it could be very strong, but would force you to be closer for focused single target damage

One thing I will always give the Huntsman Sniper playstyle that I'm surprised you didn't mention is Jarate. With a normal Rifle, You have to usually abandon your post and get close to the front lines to douse a boss or a bunch of robots at once and then retreat back to your post. Which can often times be not worth it. With the Huntsman however, You're always gonna be a lot closer to the front lines. Allowing for possible the Huntsman Snipers greatest strength, Near constant support with Jarate. Mini Crits + Slow can be deceptively powerful and rolled into One Weapon its great. Sadly outclassed by Scout. But can be useful if your friend group doesn't wanna play Scout. (Tho it does let the Scout invest in damage upgrades without worrying about Support too)

I can't believe Weezer didn't think about the battle medic as a subclass. Yeah that actually exists. Needless (heh) to say, having a max firing speed with proper resistances and critical hits on the blutsauger spells absolute insanity on the final wave. Oh, and the small bonus of mad milk syringes building ubercharge is pretty nice too >:)

Needle medic is surprisingly good, true raid tanker who can hug almost every wave and replace scout for money collecting.

I remember playing with him in a public game, he was such a chill and nice guys.

Im using a sub class of the boxing heavy i call "bodyblocking heavy". Basically i just get all of the def & health regen upgrades & go melee the bots while wearing fists of steel. The only things i havent been able to block were giant heavys with miniguns, giant pyros with flamethrowers & anything with melee. Honestly kinda fun to block a giant crit soldier while calling them a spy.

You single handey brought me back into mvm and I cant thank you enough for it

Quick question for fellow MvM players and funny man Weez. I got in my first toxic MvM lobby some time ago after playing the game for such a long time. People were saying shit like "I shoot niggas" (but hard R instead). You know, the "authentic" TF2 experience. I had Beggar's Bazooka on me with the Manthreads, which should've been Buff Banner but I forgot to switch back. But Beggar's Bazooka + Buff Banner is a solid loadout. One of the best, if I'm not mistaken. I got asked by one of my teammates why I'm using a Refill canteen. I explained that BB has an ammo issue, and that it needs Refill until I have enough points put in Ammo Cap, to just switch it out for something else. And the dude saying all that racist stuff told me these EXACT words: "Wrong answer. *buzzer noise* Just stand next to a Dispenser and unequip the weapon. Enjoy your last 8 seconds here." and they then vote kicked me. I'm left thinking that I did something wrong. When I'm pretty sure I didn't. I am more than certain that Refill is a blessing for BB in early and even late stages of MvM. With bigger clip size, and faster reload speed upgrades, it fills up your Buff Banner meter almost instantly consistently. And to take that Dispenser comment into note here, I'm not always gonna be near a Dispenser and the Dispenser is not always going to be near me. There are going to be multiple situation where I have to restock on ammo in the midst of actively trying to be on offense against the bots, and I'm going to be nowhere a Dispenser. So my question is: Am I stupid and am I missing something or are they the stupid ones? Next to the slurs and stuff ofc.

Nah, according to the Beggar's Bazooka video, you're supposed to stand near a dispenser and blow your horn when you need ammo When you're the only one on a server not dropping racial slurs, you're going to be kicked no matter what

When you said Huntsman, I immediately knew what was coming after

You forgot the most important part about the huntsman video. Soundsmith makes videos about meme weapons all the time and he was expecting the huntsman to be bad but by the end of the video he found out his was top damaging. Now this could be a statistical inconsistency like maybe his co-op was hanging back to let him get footage but still it sent home the message to people who didn't understand mvm that this was the greatest possible pick.

My Opinon on each of the subclasses: Pipe Demo is EXTREMELY Underrated, it's my way to play in Wave 666 since you get loads of credits to start. Max out all the upgrades & Explosive resistance with the stock stickybomb launcher. You can then build your own teleporter with 3-4 stickies to get to the front lines & shred every bot in your site with 180 damage pipes. Boxing Heavy would be better if there were some more KGB-exclusive upgrades like stunning bots on critical hits or speed boost on kill, but still pretty goos when it works Fat Scout is not good. Just not good. Just use miniguns. Huntsman sniper is....kinda alright? I guess? With the bleed and penetration, it can kinda compete with some of the low tier snipers, but still kinda a meme weapon, regardless of what funny shovel man says. Trolldier is dogshit.

Imagine getting multiple Explosive Headshots with one arrow. That would be amazing and it's a crying shame that Huntsman lacks the upgrade. It's already riskier than rifles, throw it a bone!

Rifles also have a Penetration upgrade and can get multiple Explosive Headshots at once, so it wouldn't even be unique.

Putting crits on kill for the bottle is great for standard demoman, you can get a crit Scottish resistance by hitting a low health robots 1-2 times.

thank you for yet another insightful masterpiece. I'd be really interested to hear more talk about how to go about fixing or rebalancing weapons and classes in MvM, kinda like you emphasized the lack of explosive headshots for huntsman. Would you introduce new upgrades to other weapons? like an explosion/splash upgrade for mantreads? Game balancing or design might not be your strong suit, but stirring some "visible" discourse would be nice. Or if there's balance mods for MvM, going over that type of content? I'm sure you have plenty of video ideas already though and I'll gladly watch whatever you pump out at this quality.

How to make the Market Gardener viable: Jumping Crits If you land a critical hit, it automatically sends out a stock rocket in your direction that doesn't hurt you. This accomplishes 2 things. First, it gives you a slight AoE damage. Second, and more importantly, it allows you to chain together gardens. I think this could work. Any thoughts?

I thought something kinda stupid for the mantreads: upgrade the stomp damage for x2 for every tick(max be x9 or x11) and/ or if get successful with a boot kill you an 5-6 seconds of being crit boost and upgrading to 15-18 seconds. That might sound broken, but given you have to kill a robot with the mantreads, you should get a powerful reward like that

The thing about rocket jumper gardens is that they're more meant as a skillful and flashy way to kill other human players, it's not really meant to be incredibly lethal, which is what you need in man vs machine

I vaguely remember a comunity server with custom upgrades that i played on a few years back. In that server, equipping the rocket-jumper would unlock flat damage upgrades alongside an "Explosive Garden" upgrade (4 nodes and 100 credits each), which was basically explosive headshot when you landed a garden. That same server also gave the man-treads a "Stunning Stomp" upgrade (1 node for 800 credits) where stomping on a bot with the man-treads would stun it.

One time when I was playing MVM Wave 666 with my friends and we were doing random loadouts and I got the loch-n-load, sticky jumper, and eyelander. Originally I thought that it was going to be a bad loadout but the more I played with it, the more I realized how great pipe demo actually was.

Trolldier bouncing on a mantread or causing an explosion on successful rocket jump melee would make it incredibly fun

Here's one a lot of people forget: MvM Battle Medic. The Blutsauger has an upgrade where mad milk will be applied to any robot you hit, being able to heal you and your teammates. Later on in the match, when you have a lot of upgrades to resistances and max out your primary, you are damn near unkillable.
