And so Season 3 begins! I have a lot of neat plans moving forward so I hope you all enjoy what's to come! For any TCG players out there, I wanna quickly mention: I am fully aware that Ursarctics technically cant be SYNCHRO Summoned and rather Special Summoned by sending Tuner and Non-Tuners with a difference of 1 to the GY. Because this archetype is based on the Dark Synchros from 5D's, I figured just to treat them as Synchros to the audience. This will be clearly established when Heavy duels in the future. On that note; yes, EVERY merc will get a chance to duel this season! Some of their decks are still in early development, but they will be pretty cool in the long run ;)

Question do. You thin that since engies deck has a locomotive do you think it's possible to make it where engie gets a locomotive deck upgrade. Plus I believe either frithfurs or any of the toy soldiers would be prefect for Pyro plus can we please get Pyro a voicebox

@@flashbeat9521 As in, Engies deck has the inclusion of some train-related cards? That's honestly not a bad idea! I cannot confirm or deny anything yet, except that Pyro will find a way to communicate in the duels so it's clear what he is doing.

The heavy's deck was amazing it fits perfectly. But for demoman I don't know what deck he will use but I'm thinking that he should use a deck that has a fighting spirit how about batling boxers deck

A great opening to the season! I sadly wasn't able to join the premier this time, but hopefully my schedule will be cleaner next episode! :) There's a lot of stuff to love with this episode, so I'll start with the intro! Seeing the effects of last season's finale was a nice bit of worldbuilding and was a good spot to pick up the story from, and hearing the Mercs recount their recent duels for the civilians was extremely charming! I'll also admit that Demo's fourth wall breaak gave me one helluva laugh :) But speaking of the intro itself, I couldn't help but notice the little background detaul at 2:12. There are three background monsters behind the mercs, with Genex Locomotion being fully visible - which makes sense since that monster belong to Engineer, who dueled with it against soldier. I'm guessing the remainders are teasers into what decks the others will be running, like that Rescue-ACE monster on the right. It's a nice way of teasing what's to come! I also noticed some cards at 33:30 were mixes of ones we've seen used and ones we haven't. Makes me quite curious... Also I gotta give props for the music! MADKID is admittedly a favorite of mine, but the Kronos island theme was a great fit for the earlier scenes with scout and the rest! You did a great job of capturing the overal mood of a Pyrrhic Victory! Speaking of, the team's dynamic is really enjoyably during the earlier scenes! Scout is clearly in a foul mood and feels guilty about last season's outcome, with Engineer and Soldier (who both dueled alongside him last season) being able to understand and try to talk him down. Even after the journey to Aperture they don't fully blame scout either since it was mostly a case of "wrong place at the wrong time." I'm also guessing that Scout helped Pyro build a deck because he felt bad about the earlier interactios in the episode, but I might be looking to deep into it. It's a wholesome interaction either way! But on the topic of decks, I was NOT expecting Heavy's deck! Ursarctic is a very interesting archetype and definitely threw me for a loop, but it's also a surprisingly good fit thematically; Animal-themed arctic monsters, perfectly mirroring Heavy's home in the russian wilderness, with small and large monsters that mirror his calm demeanor unless provoked (plus Ursarctic Polari is adorable!). It was also a blast seeing Heavy take initiative and borrow Scout's duel disk! I also think it's wholesome how he offers to help build Sniper a deck since he lost a duel against Heavy during S1E3. YGOpro also worked out a lot better than I expected it to! The transparent grid and cards were easy to follow and gave the duel a very clean look, and the custom computer static for the highlighted cards was a great touch - same for the field spell changing the background for the duel! The remaining robots are also quite interesting! They all seem to have unique personalities and decks. It'll also be interesting to see if "Alpha" starts holding a grudge against Heavy after their first duel. Overall this is a great start for the season! The plot definitely has me hooked and I'm looking forward to the next duel! Also did you voice the big baddie for this? That villain monologue toward the end was cheesy in all the right ways, with a great villainous laugh to cap the episode off!

I said a long time ago that Battlin Boxers would fit Heavy well, but then I came across Ursarctics and when I looked into it, I knew right then and there, it HAD to be Heavys main archetype! And hahaha yes, I did voice him! I'm trying my hand at voicing a major character this time around :)

Season 3! So the search for Spy begins! And we're headed to the Aperture Science labs for this one. Very interesting indeed. I was expecting to see GLaDOS, but hoo boy this batch of original villains are gonna be interesting. I especially like the leader's voice. He sounds incredibly intimidating, very much like the dark hand moving the various pieces behind the scenes should. A very solid voice for a season's ultimate villain, and I can't help but wonder just what kind of original deck he'll utilize in battle. Breen's Lost Souls archetype set a great standard, so I'm certainly excited! Speaking of Breen, I can't help but wonder if he is the intruder that fell into Aperture instead of Spy. Both of them did get thrown into the portal after all, and I doubt he'll just vanish from the story altogether. But either way, will certainly be a fun ride. There's plenty of potential for decks here too. Vylons, with their white and mechanical-looking aesthetics like the turrets and GLaDOS herself, as well as their names being Greek letters as it seems like these robots' names might be, if Alpha here is any indication. A trap-centric deck like Labrynth or Eldlich, because hoo boy did the machines that run Aperture like GLaDOS and Wheatley love their traps, and Chell was just too darn good at avoiding or outsmarting each one, much like the knight seen in the Labrynth archetype's artwork. Or even something like Qli, being powerful machines that tower above their enemies and set out to destroy them, much as GLaDOS wanted so hard to destroy Chell until she proved just too hard to kill. It also makes one wonder. If GLaDOS is offline, what happened to Atlas and P-Body? I wonder if they're still around. If they are, would they be friends or foes? They don't seem like malicious sorts, at least toward each other. I don't think they've ever interacted with humans though. I did like seeing Alpha's deck, and realize it has a lot of potential in future encounters. I wonder how many times she'll end up clashing with Heavy, since it seems like she's being set up as a recurring boss fight. Either way, Mathmechs are pretty neat in what they do, mixing up XYZ and synchro together like they do. If Alpha busts out Geomathmech Final Sigma, and no doubt she will at some point, Heavy may be in trouble because his Ursarctic Septentrion can't negate it since it has levels. It's a shame to see that Circular has been banned in the TCG though. It really neuters the deck. I get why 3 is overkill, but you can't even have 1? Oh well, Konami is gonna Konami. And lastly, Ursartics! I admit I know very little about this deck, other than that it pairs with Drytrons for some reason. It sounds clunky on paper to mash two archetypes together like that, but who knows. There could be a myriad of plays that I don't know about. The whole "negative tuning" idea is certainly unique though, using the difference between levels instead of adding levels together to summon monsters. I looked up some other cards from the archetype and it's a shame that they don't have more extra deck monsters. Though using Polar Star to summon Septentrion sounds like a powerful lock on enemy extra deck monster effects indeed. But Grand Chariot also has uses, blowing up enemy cards. Ursartic Departure is also incredible for fetching combo pieces, that is certainly true. Radiation is great fuel for drawing if it goes well, and Quint Charge... hm. It certainly is a card, but nobody is going to fall for that "you must shuffle cards into the deck" effect upon blowing up an Ursarctic Synchro via battle unless they're really bad at reading cards. Overall, I find myself curious as to just what else it can do. As a side note, part of me wonders if Heavy also has a Nouvelles deck stored away somewhere. That deck loves summoning Hungry Burger, and that's probably the closest Heavy can get to beating foes down with the power of sandvich! Don't run! It's just ham! But I have been rambling, haven't I? Long story short, this is a good way to start off the new season! A very imposing new bad guy, a cadre of smaller villains, at least one of which seems to have declared to be laser-focused on taking down a specific merc, and a whole new place to explore! Will be very neat to see how this develops.

I honestly like this series it’s a funny mash of fan fav games and the popular yugioh verse just love it

so happy this series continue and what suprised me so much is heavys deck of choice!

First of all im glad i watched this second this is off to one hell of start and im excited to see what everyone else's decks are and how the story will continue and third im gonna make heavys deck now lol

the fact that the sentry/turret chan(s?) seem to be the recurring enemies here is pretty cool, silly characters taking serious roles! Also, the main villain, HOOOOO BOY. He gives me Sturm vibes, hiding in the shadows and sounding all cool and evil... God knows what insane struggle HE'LL be to beat!

Interesting opening to this season, especially with now everyone has a deck, despite Demo’s anger. I find it funny that Heavy uses our only access to Dark Synchros in the real game, but it does make sense cuz of his background. Can’t wait to see what happens next

Does anyone else think that Demoman should get the deck that Chumley's dad used in GX? I mean, it is full of monsters that love to drink just like him, and since he isn't a fan of the game, the "Flipping the Table" card seems like it would be the perfect way for him to show how angry he is about having to play it.

Also, no one ever said that the intruder was spy. So maybe Breem? Manly cause I see spy actually keeping some of his gear with him, like the invisibility watch...

Ursartic is an excellent choice for Heavy. Tbh I was kinda expecting something like Rokkets cause their basicly bullet and Gun Dragons but A. Can understand wanting to stay off Link Summoning for awhile and B. Rokkets probably would be a little OP at this point in the series.

This episode was great. It's nice to see heavy duel with such adorable and yet power cards. On an unrelated note... I recognize everyone's ace monster in the credits except Demoman's... Anyone know what that is?
