Text Mask on Photo in PowerPoint? 🔥 [PPT TRICKS!]

This short shows how to create a photo text mask in PowerPoint in just a few clicks. Duplicate a photo, add text on top of photos, select top photo and text and the Merge Shapes menu for "intersect". Now format the remaining photo to Black and White. Voila! EASY text masking in PowerPoint. 👍

I didn't get merge shapes icon in my Microsoft PowerPoint. Is there any other ways mask photo into text?

the only other way would be to find shapes of letters and fill the background of those shapes with a picture. Merge shapes is available in ppt for ms 365 but not available in the web version unfortunately

How come mine just removes a block rather than just the text

Your text box is likely a text placeholder. You’ll need to make sure the text box you use is one that is manually inserted. Watch any of the long form videos on my channel for text mask effects.

You will need to go to office.com and upgrade to a new subscription. I recommend Microsoft 365 for desktop for all apps.
I made all the steps but the merge shapes button isn’t available when I click on the text?

@@SpotlightImpact its a feature of youtube, when u type that and it appears as link (used in shorts cause u cant change timelapse), it appears as a normal yt video. ik i explained bad
