    It's crazy how fast combine athletes are getting, but when Su Bingtian, who's a track sprinter, ran his 60M in 6.29, Su clocked less than a 4.1 in the first 40 yards... crazy

    @caydenherring9196 I know, but it puts in perspective the difference between the two, and if Su did run an official 40, he would clock a fast gime

  • @forsakenagony3574

    @forsakenagony3574

    5 ай бұрын

    60M you've more momentum so you're just going to have a faster time on average. Example: Even though Usan Bolt 40m time is 4.22 I'm pretty sure.. His 100m is 9.19 which if you put it at 40m it would be a 3.676. So, that 4.1 is def misleading if you don't think about it and just do the math but don't actually think why they're faster.

  • @justawhiteguywitharocketla590

    @justawhiteguywitharocketla590

    5 ай бұрын

    @forsakenagony3574 Well, no matter what, a sub 4 second 40 is probably impossible because your body can't accelerate up to top speed quick enough... usain bolt only ran a 4.22 because his stature doesn't allow him to get into top speed till 40-50 meters. Su Bingtian ran this straight out of the blocks because he's shorter and can accelerate quicker than taller sprinters. However, he gets caught because stride length plays a huge role in sprints longer than 60M

  • @troliskimosko

    @troliskimosko

    5 ай бұрын

    @@forsakenagony3574 There are many, many issues with your comment. Su’s 40 wasn’t extrapolated the way you think it is. It isn’t proportional; Usain’s 40 in his prime is estimated closer to 4.1 not 3.6 because sprinters are always slower at the start. That 4.22 was in jeans. Also, his 100 meter was 9.58 not 9.19. Christ. You understand that sprinters reach higher top speeds later, but you assume that the people recording the numbers don’t. That split time is calculated based on what they recorded at the 40 meter mark, since at major events every 10 meters is recorded. Since there is only a 4 yard different between 40 meters and 40 yards, it’s easier to extrapolate a 40 time from the ratio between the two distances compared to between 100 meters and 40 yards. Also, Christian Coleman, who is the indoor 60m world record holder, recorded a 4.11 40 yard dash on turf, without blocks, electronically. Su is undoubtedly much faster than 4.21 at the 40 yard mark.
