My lord, you truly see how good Eggleston is in this game. But if you watched her early in the season, she came to play. I mean, it was clear she was in top form right from the get-go, which means she's been working-out hard and practicing hard in the off-season. And you can tell from the interviews she did, she was SO determined to win the championship this year, and she friggin DID IT. Not to take away ANYTHING from her teammates -- Skinner is phenomenal, O'Neal, Phillips, Torres, Fletch, man they're all high-level. But the setter put the ball in Eggleston's hands from the very start, and said, "this is your time to shine, go get 'em~~~!" And she delivered...

Especially when Louisville knew they had to stop her but they could not; however, that would mean they had to stop everyone else like Skinner, O'Neal. It was a difficult task.

Congratulations Texas longhorns THE CHAMPION. What a breath taking 3rd set. To Logan a good remarks that you can never forget as a volleyball player of the team I'm happy you completed your career as longhorns volleyball player with a pride. Still can't get over the horrific camera work at the end. Yes, let's focus on the ball bouncing off the court and the Louisville player walking back begrudgingly while totally ignoring the winning team's victory dogpile on the other side of the court.

Texas deserved to win this in 3; they did everything right; their defense at the net us always good but the backcourt defense was suffocating! The libero stole so many points and the defensive specialists passed really well the entire match. Texas was barely out of system. I heard alot of talk about the “culture” of texas in the past, and when I think of lexi sun , skylar, jenna, and all the people that transferred it makes me wonder what was going on in the team…whatever it was was probably what held them back, because as good as they are now , they always have great lineups. Louisville fought in the end but the game was just not clean enough, defensively not much was going on at all and the setter was not up to the challenge; she barely gave ikko the sets she needed to be involved, and the match became very outside heavy. Super happy for the Nebraska transfers, and logan who hope to see playing professionally. Skinner seems to be a star and I wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up with 3 championships.

I think Jhenna transferred because she knew she was not going to be in the starting line up this season and would rather have playing time. During the game last year when they lost again Nebraska, you could tell that Saige out performed her and the set that they won, was the set the Saige played.

Louisville gave up on the 1st and 2nd set, but came back strong in the 3rd set. Sadly, they lost 24 to 26, sure was a good game though!

Gave up? Texas smelled the championship and got too tight or the 3rd set wouldn’t have been that close anyways. This was always a 3 or 4 set win for Texas. I just couldn’t see small OH’s beating this physical Texas block and attack. Texas also was the best passing, serve-receive team in the country this year and once their blocking picked up during the tourney, they were just going to be hard to beat. Louisville shouldn’t feel bad either. What a great season and run by their program. Good things to come for them but they ran into the best team from start to finish of the season and there just wasn’t a more talented team than Texas, so no shame in losing to them.

Is Skinner the first player/starter to have national titles at two different schools? Since Texas couldn't stop her when she was with Kentucky, might as well play with her and win. Good job coach Elliott!

I think the team that had the best chance at pushing Texas or even possibly winning was Wisconsin. Their massive block would’ve been hard for Texas to hit around. They had a very off game against Pittsburgh, they would be here if not for that.

Wisconsin can't pass. And also, Texas has beaten Wisconsin when they had their All Americans Dana Redkie and Sydney Hilly. Nothing would have stopped Texas this year.

@@slushymatis Wisconsin can pass. That game was very uncharacteristic of them (vs pittsburgh). Regardless, their block would’ve been the biggest challenge for Texas. They are one of the few teams that are taller than them. And it is a different team that is playing now than the team that lost against Texas. Don’t let your bias cloud your judgment. Wisconsin is the team that could’ve pushed this championship to 5 sets.

@@slushymatis Wisconsin is #2 in the nation for blocks per set, Texas is not in the top 10 nor top 50. Danielle Hart is number 5 in the country for blocks per set. Caroline Crawford is #14. Texas has Asia o Neal at #44. Texas was not unbeatable this season, aka their loss. And no one puts up blocking numbers like Wisconsin does (other than Maryland and they are in the same conference)

Yep. There are four regional brackets and they all dwindle down to a final 8 teams ( two per bracket), final 4, and then the championships. The regional placements are dependent on your seed which is determined by your rank throughout the season. The top 4 number 1 seeds each get to host a regional

She got a yellow card for delay of game, not for going up to the net. Coaches have a right to contest a play, which both of them did multiple times.

No one was biased! O’Neal CLEARLY touched it on set point and the down ref screwed everything up. Louisville would’ve won the third set!!!

Huh? Did you watch the match? Akana literally stole the 4 4th set with her serve and caffey was the second middle blocker . I guess you are just bitter they left nebraska; clearly they did the right thing

Announcer lady was OBNOXIOUS! Her voice is super shrill and annoying. Her manufactured excitement came with ear deafening noise pollution. Her fellow announcer was having none of the excitement and the two didn’t compliment each other at all. I miss the guy that used to do the announcing when Nebraska and Stanford won their championships. Please bring him and the lady he always announced with back. If I have to listen to this banshee-esque ear torture in the 2023 national championship I might pray for an EMP attack to end our turmoil!

Texas was set to win this when they brought in a whole team of new recruits from top 10 teams from last year. Are we surprised? lol I was hoping the underdogs would take it sadly like San Diego but they did so well being a team of "nobodys".

I'm just glad Louisville loss!

The only way UT could have a winning team this year was adding players from other schools' teams who still had a year of eligibility - Zoë Fleck from UCLA to name only one, and others from the Univ of Kentucky, Penn State and Nebraska. Texas will fail next season, unless they have more bodies in the transfer portal already.

If you’re going to beat Pitt in 5 with a 15-2 score , whom beat Wisconsin the reigning champions in 5 at least take the longhorns to 5 , even San Diego took them to 4 & don’t get me wrong I love San Diego & I hoped they won but everyone thought they’d get swept
