I think 'nerves' got the best of Louisville. They had way too many unforced errors at the net. Chaussee had a few ill-timed errors too, although she had a hell of a game as well. She and DeBeers were really the most aggressive and confident players on the team... Texas is just too big and solid up front. Every single hitter is so good. Eggleston got her well-deserved trophy.

No doubt Lousville is a great team but in this game Texas outplayed them in everything. In the third set when the score favored Texas 20-16 there were circumstances that favored Lousville and they tried to force a fourth set but again Texas was calm and with four consecutive scores they sentenced the match. Great match.

I’m a NEB fan but I have to admit, TEXAS looked unstoppable since week 1. And indeed they turned out to be!

Nebraska has a lot of height, and a lot of 'white', lol (tall, lanky, white blondes), but no single outstanding hitter. They're all just... 'above average'. Next year, they'll have a sensational Freshman in Harper Murray, who will instantly become their #1 go-to terminator. She's a fierce and explosive jumper/hitter. Exactly what Neb needs. I'm excited to see what she if she can lead this team to the championships.

@@AztecWench The main reason I have heard is that Nebraska did not have the scholarships for them. With Caffey she is in her last year of eligibility and already has a degree. For her to get a scholarship means an incoming freshman won’t get one. Akana is a sophomore so I am not sure that happened to her scholarship.

I predicted this matchup and I predicted on my bracket that Texas would win and my horns got it done, I was so proud and happy, I literally went oh s**t they just won when Akana got the ace and seeing her and Kayla hug was so special , and the camera guy should of got them running but still such a special moment for the dog pile and what a team and what a season HOOK EM!!

Longhorns just have amazing teams in almost every sport they compete in. Logan was on a mission this year and couldn’t be stopped.

my dad, sister, and i have been huge fans of texas volleyball for the longest time. we had the chance to attend the spring season game again baylor in 2022. i very vividly remember looking at my dad straight in the eye and saying “we’re winning the national championship this year”. this was before we had some of the star players in this match playing. glad to know how right i was 🤘🏻

I really like the disappointment in the commentators voices hahaha. Texas offense dominating the whole match. Commentators: let’s talk about Louisville some more. Hahaha

These lousy commentators mentioned the Louisville's coach name so many freaking times, it was insufferable! She is a great coach, but no need trying to tie everything back to her. You'd think she had the better credentials of the two coaches!

Emma Halter is the next Libero for Texas, I can feel it in my chest‼️there’s no way that girl is not going to be given the Libero position next year

I thought so too but now they snatched up a 5th year transfer libero from TAMUCC named Carissa Barnes. She is one of the top liberos in the country. I’m wondering if Emma will play one more year as DS or something.

@@yeet_777 I would say it’s more about what you bring to the table and not just titles, Don’t get me wrong Carissa Barnes is pretty much good from what I’ve seen but she’s not as much as consistent and court wise as Emma Halter! Emma only allowed 1 ace in her whole freshman season, no overpasses, if anyone did a celebration from Texas overpassing she was right there digging it up. But then again you may be right that she might play another year as a DS.

Nebraska fan here, you could tell the whole match Texas was hungry for that win. They spoke about how Skinner came in and helped Logan change their culture at Texas and you could tell in this match they have evolved. Louisville never got control of the match or in a rhythm. I wish their would’ve been more volleyball played but a deserving win for the Longhorns, only took Logan five years but better late than never!

Appreciate it, but Skinner did not help Logan with anything about culture per se; Skinner's utility was with her play and relief for Logan. Of course, Madi is great person with lovable demeanor, but the culture was by ALL the players! Interesting dig at Logan in your last sentence. I remember when Texas transfer, Lexi Sun, went to Nebraska for 3 or 4 years and won NOTHING! I suppose one can say with her better NEVER than NEVER!

Please go back and read my response word for word and endeavor to understand before throwing empty accusations. If anything, you were the one who tried to dig at Logan and when I did the same thing to you (using Lexi Sun), you then complain about negativity. As for Skinner, I said she wasn't the only one who helped with the winning confidence, the whole team did. I love Skinner a lot, but Fleck, Akana, and even Halter all had winning attitudes. Skinner is going to be the main player (what Logan has been the past few years) next year. She has an awesome attitude and the potential to be the National Player of the Year. But that is besides the point. Halter even told the coach (he said later) that "winners win". Fleck brought leadership, accountability and elite performance to the team. Also, it is not as if Texas had some super rotten culture that needed some radical overhaul; they had been in the championship just two years ago! The biggest difference is they did not mainly have the play of Fleck, Madi, and Halter when it was all said and done. As for the words of the so-called commentators who were blatantly drooling over Louisville the entire game, they mean nothing to me. As an example, the number of mentions of the Louisville coach, compared to the Texas coach, speak for themselves, even though the Texas coach is more accomplished and had the better team on paper and by the eye test. Not to be discounted is the fact that Texas played superior in the game as well. So simply regurgitating their nonsense about some perceived chronic culture issues is unimpressive!

@@matthewlane5517 Yeah, but Eggleston shut it down. You could tell UT coach wanted to keep the arguing going, but a part of being the captain is knowing when to stop pushing the umpire. Louisville captain let her coach push it to 3 interruptions… no way was that going to fly.

I said the same thing! I expected more from Louisville! Atleast 4 sets! They didn’t have any fight in them it was too easy for Texas! Georgia was more of a threat to Texas than Louisville!

Well... Texas did it again. But I enjoyed watching!

Would’ve liked to see more out of Louisville. Last year: semis. This year: finals. Maybe next year, title. Texas was an all star squad tho. Even at Louisville’s best, this was Texas’ game to lose. Congrats to them!

(This is coming from someone who had to transfer for the very same reason with scholarship limits) However, there’s no right or wrong, I’m just putting in their likely perspective.

Congrats to Tx as they are the best team this year. UT fans should be grateful to Nebr, Kentucky, UCLA, Colorado, and others for the transfer portal acquisitions to assemble this dream team. Hope that this aspect of college VB will not be a trend for future teams, esp. those already established as top programs.

You’re more than likely a Nebraska fan and I will say this.. Nebraska had the same opportunity to go to the portal as Texas but instead of acquiring talent your coach decided to let Akana and Caffey walk away. Texas is always a contender for a national championship every year and this is the first season Texas has taken transfers that saw significant playing time. Texas lost just as much to the portal as they gained. Did you expect Texas to lose players like Iosia, Cabello, Fields, etc.. and just not replace them? If anything Nebraska needs to hit the portal and get some pin hitters because you all get all those top classes and don’t develop them. Texas actually develops their players. The portal is available to every coach, player, and school so I suggest they start using it or they will get left behind. It’s the way college is now so hop on board or you won’t be competing. Nebraska is a prime example of that this season.

Does Texas remind anyone else of the 2019 Stanford team? These are the type of teams where I’m happy for them when they win in the sense that they clearly deserve it, but I’m also happy they have a HUGE senior class leaving. This team made the national championship boring to watch. Anyway, cards will hook ‘em next year!!! Also, THIS IS THE WORST DOWN-REF IVE EVER SEEN!!! Like, WTH the biggest Texas fan couldn’t deny that Asjia O’Neal clearly touched it on Louisville’s set point! It sucks to think about how good ncaa officials typically are in all sports, but FOR THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP, THEY PICKED HER!!! WHAT WAS NCAA THINKING?!?!?! Also I would love to hear an explanation on HOW A TEAM IS OUT OF ROTATION WHEN THEY ARE SERVING!!!!!!!!!!!! Why give away two free points in a national championship over nothing? Coming from a big Louisville fan, Texas clearly wanted more and deserved it, but I think this would have gone to 4 and could have possibly gone to five sets if we had the officials from the final four.

Alexa Hendricks #4 moved before the server touched the ball. I’m assuming that’s what the ref was referring to with that call. Watched the post game conference and Louisville coach said she’s never seen that in her entire career of coaching lol!

Louisville just simply didn’t have any fight in them! San Diego Marquette & Georgia was all able to take sets off Texas! Texas will be stacked next year also with mostly everyone coming back except Logan Caffey Fleck & Saige! They already have Bergmark to fill Caffy place and Heinrich can take fleck spot so In the portal all they would need is a OH & Setter which I’m sure they will get one of those 5th year All Americans from the portal! I don’t see anyone beating them next year either!

Melanie Parra just left so they deffo have some work cut out scouting wise. Im sure the energy will echo into next year for sure!

@@sejuinHGBergmark red-shirted her freshman year at Cal so she technically does have another year, I’m not sure if she’ll use it tho. Also Texas has the #2 freshman class coming in with all 4 being great (particularly the setter and RS). So even without getting transfers they would still be competitive.

@@sejuinHG Yes, Hendricks quietly moved to the right out of position. The refs were really picky about that this championship as they called the same thing on Caffey. Maybe another set of refs would have let those slide but these refs did not.

For **** sake, the the court should be colored blue or any other dark color to make watching volleyball easier. Learn from the Olympics and other international events

Excited to see Parra transfer & get playing time. Why are people saying that Parra’s fans are annoying only about her? I’m a Texas fan, the whole team I’m just a fan of hers. Am I not supposed to root for her? I’m supposed to say only good things about the whole team? I do! Go longhorns!! & not saying that Texas will need Parra or they will be less without her. I just want to see her play, that’s all. Whoo, glad I was able to explain myself, hope this helps 🤣🤣

People say Parra fans are annoying and insufferable because, wait for it...they actually are! You don't see fans of Eggleston, or O'Neal, or Phillips, or Skinner or any other person constantly complaining about playing time after EVERY single game. Sure, Parra's inclusion is important and should be acknowledged, meaning that it is fair that lots of people root for her; however, the constant entitlement some of these fans had during the season that she "deserved" playing time over better players was absurd. Nobody deserved anything, it was a meritocracy and the best players played, when it was all said and done. Period! Also, you are one of the more reasonable of her fans and most people, including myself, aren't (or shouldn't) be up in our feelings about your genuine support of someone you like. It is the other 99% who usually spoil it for everyone.

I enjoy watching volleyball but I mainly watch international games. So, when I watch college teams play, I have no particular favourite and I know nothing about the players and their backgrounds. I do not know who Parra is and what she has done in the past. Saying that, when I have read the comments under a Texas game, I have seen the comments that are probably the annoying comments you are referring to. What I have read are comments that think Parra is entitled to play regardless of the other people on the team and regardless of whether she is one of the best players. The comments are not about the game (other than Parra did not play enough) and were borderline insulting to the other players on the team because they had a "how dare they play when it should be Parra on the court" undertone. And while you are a Texas fan and cheer for the whole team, there have been more than a few comments saying that that commenter was only there because of Parra. They did not care about the team or support the team as a whole. That is probably why they were/are found to be annoying.

@@AztecWench mno estoy en contra de eso,sino que fue ""engatusada" o convencida,para estar jugando,ella por ese motivo ingreso en la UNI de texas,sino te toman en cuenta para encuentros desicivos,es mejor emigrar,ya que ella tuvo la oportunidad de ir a otra UNI y jugar para ellos,pero los de texas la convencieron,ahora ya se va a otra,ya que para ella jugar es motivante,asi como le pasaba a bricio,aunque bricio era mas determinante y vital para troyanas de USC.,en este equipo de texas esta Loogan y otras 3 mas,lo que hace dificil sea tomada muy en cuenta para ser titular,,,bendiciones,y feliz año nuevo,q sea de existo para ti amigo..
