The politicians responsible have dual citizenship with Israel. That should be considered a conflict of interest for a politician to have dual citizenship with ANY country, but unfortunately it's legal. I have a 20-year-old cousin, born in Indonesia (his father is from Texas) who finally managed to claim USA citizenship in 2021 after fighting hard to get it for 5 whole years. He was very happy, until the influx of illegal immigrants in the Biden era made it meaningless.

5 years to gain citizenship is good. Doing it the right way is important if you wish to obtain the American dream. Biden has let in 10 million people but only issued 1 million work visas. The other 9 million people will be begging in the streets because they can't legally work in America. 90% of those filing for Asylum do not qualify and because they crossed the border illegally they will be deported wasting years of their life.

When the Europeans started flooding the United States, the individual Indian tribes/nations ignored them in general much like we ignored the trickle of illegals coming through 20 years ago. There were two parties here in this country, called the Democrats and Republicans actin like the indigenous tribes two centuries ago.
