On today's show, we are live from the University of Texas campus in Austin as the Longhorns held a full day celebration as they officially joined the Southeastern Conference effective today! We catch up with SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey as well as Longhorn basketball coach Rodney Terry as they discuss this monumental day. We also are joined by former Longhorn wide receiver Marquise Goodwin as he shares his thoughts on Texas to the SEC.
Also, we caught up with QB Arch Manning at the Manning Passing Academy over the weekend, and we talk some with Arch about the current Longhorns roster and excitement for his continued development as a college quarterback.
And we get a chance to interview current Longhorn LB David Gbenda as he discusses Texas joining the SEC, and shares his thoughts on the current Longhorn team as they join a new conference. Lastly, we caught up with some Longhorn fans out on campus as they gave their thoughts on Texas joining the SEC.

Arch says he wants to play against Ole Miss and Tennessee eventually @11:40 In order for that to happen, he would need to play for Texas during his red shirt junior season in 2026. right now he is a red shirt freshman in 2024. meaning we have Arch manning for at least 2 years after Quinn!🥳🤘🏽

We in the Longhorn Nation are happy to join the best conference in collegiate sports. I know those in the B1G think they are terrific and those in the Big XII hope to one day be relevant. But we all know the truth - It’s all about the SEC. It will be a huge challenge to transition from the Big XII to the SEC. There are so many tremendous schools and fans in the SEC. We Texas fans hope are Longhorns can add to what is the best of the best!

Welcome and as a Vol fan I'm excited that we now have a legit contender competing against us Vol fans for the most winningest all around sports school. There are no other school that win the most sports at their schools than TN and Texas. We expect Texas to be right there with us in every sport. TN finished top ten in all 20 sports. Won two SEC championships, 2 SEC tournaments and a national title in the 23-24 season. We are even neck and neck in golf lol. Longhorns are a quality team and fanbase and along with OU will had a tremendous punch to the SEC. Looking forward to heading out there for sports and checking your environs. Welcome home!

@@gwhite7136 Texas and Tennessee are similar in that we try to be competitive at the top level in all sports. Historically speaking Texas once was a member of the conference that eventually evolved into the SEC.Technically, Texas is just going home.

Not sure exactly what you are talking about Carla, but Texas win the first Big XII title and the last one. Over the past five years, Texas has been a contender for national championship honors in most every sport. Until last season, the SEC had won seven or eight national football titles in a row. If Georgia had not lost late in the season, they probably would have beaten Michigan for the national title.

@@sarahmccoy1941 LOL Sorry but that UGA team would have been blown out my Michigan. UGA could only rushed for 78 yards against Bama in the SECCG. Threw for around 200 yards and could only manager 24 point. That UM team would have destroyed UGA, along with Texas and probably WA. UGA has been more fortunate thaen good. 78th ranked SOS's, year in and out.. The depth is way under what it was two years ago and Mike Bobo is a joke compared to Todd Monken on offense. UGA last year overachieved with how they looked. 14-0 SC led UGA. UGA won quite a few games by one over teams like AU and GT..

Yes, the football rivalries Texas brings is good. But the real race for SEC dominance in sports all around is between Tennessee and Texas. No schools have won more all around sports than these two school. TN two years running but Texas is the only other school that is close. So get used to TN vs Texas in everything.. A matchup long overdue. Only ever played each other 3 times in football. All Cotton Bowls. Hadn't played each other in football since the 69 Cotton Bowl.

Theyre always relevant as far as brand and spotlight, but certainly joining the SEC raises their ability to recruit at a higher level and compete with other big brands. The Big 12 brought Texas down, and now theyre back on an even playing field with other programs which is why you are seeing a big boost in football again. So in that regard the SEC does make them relevant again.
