and "looks" could just as easily mean "this looks like it was in the early 2000s and I think it was" as "I know this didn't come from the early 2000s but it looks like was". You made an assumption which it was same as I did.

These guys grew up in my hometown. At 2:35 you can see them playing the chameleon club in Lancaster. Great band back in the day, sad to see them go.
Just survived another Texas in July. The band goes almost as hard as this heat

Damn, I still can't believe this song has been posted for 5 years--feels just like yesterday I discovered these guys.
I remember watching this video in 2009 when it only had like 1,000 or so views. These guys deserve all the attention that has come their way and all the success that's to come. I love this band
freakin miss this band. Live shows were insane. Pit was definitely the spot to be \m/
Damn the last time I heard this song was 4 years ago! Re united and it feeeela so goood! :)

first time hearing them ..... mind blown, great band
love these breakdowns !!!!
Saw them live with abr & i, the breather a while ago. I miss when this style was huge. metalcore hits a sweet spot. Heavy, but not over the top. Technical on many levels, but underlying blueprint is simple & can attract a big range of listeners, killer at shows, promotes energy, tends to not try to be depressing, whinny, cheesy satanic shit, no death core rape/dismemberment lyrics... good mix of fast progressive guitars leading into hard heavy drops... underrated genre

Classic I loved listening to these guys back in hs. Used to walk all over my schools campus air drumming to them.
First song I ever heard by them years ago, instantly fell in love with the drumming and overall vibe they gave off. Been listening to them ever since I heard this song and it's sad to see that they're quitting. Bloodwork was a phenomenal album and I think they could've gone even further had they kept going.
Welcome to Serbia, can't wait to see you on July 20th.

Texas In Serbia In July
wtf is wrong with some of these critics... they get so caught up on the technicality of guitar playing that they forget music is a very subjective experience. simplicity is enjoyable to some people, not everyone likes technical death metal with complex sweeps in every song, and not everyone enjoys metalcore. keep enjoying the music you listen to. but to argue "this certain music isnt good because its not technical or progressive enough" is laughable. music is about expressing and invoking certain feelings in yourself and your listeners. if an audience reacts how you intended when they hear your amazing sweep, more power to you. the same goes with quick riffs and heavy breakdowns. thats what its about, connecting with others. if youre one of those people who think "my genre is the best everything else sucks," youre neither a musician nor do you understand what music is about.

god i miss when TIJ would come to pottsville PA and just light up the place... these guys are the 1 band that when they played everyone like every single person just listened in amazement n threw down... before i really got into this kind of music my nuddies told me i had to go see texas in july and yea man were they right... dudes earned my respect
Is it just me, or does the breakdown starting @ 2:10 sound a bit like the breakdown riff for An American Dream by ABR?
@avnc10
6 жыл бұрын
Well, they are like ''brother bands'' so it's normal to sound similar... And yeah, it remembers me that song... On that breakdown I always knew that I've seen it in other place... Now you remembered me that part and u're totally correct!
I still want to know what really happened to Christian R and Alex.
I have had this song up on google chrome for so long without refreshing the page... before i refreshed the views were at 1.6m views... now it has 2.1m views... wow I must love it too much!
Never gets old....
Please, for the love of Music, stop the childish Genre-War. To the instrumentally impaired who are criticizing: let's see you replicate this music on any level. Guitar, vocals, and especially drums. stop the talk and walk it. "Vocalist sounds weird." "Too much XXXXXX" "These guys look like their 18 and in a pop band." Who gives a shit? If you like this music, then you're someone I want to party with.

Myke Nope 8 months late, but how are you gonna try and tell people to stop having an opinion on something because they can't do it themselves? Music is an art form, and art is partially made to be judged.

kirby TFTV. If you think art is "partially made to be judged," you're missing the point. All due respect. No worries if it's "8 months too late," Sir. Americans discussing anything civilly is a good thing, imo. Btw, I always used Kirby in Smash Bro's. He owns! ;)

Not nearly progressive enough to sound like ABR; vocals sound nothing like Jake and there are way too many breakdowns. No idea why people are saying they sound similar.
@nortongartino4602

probably because of the drummer, their play style is unbelievably similar even though adam beat matt by a mile

Norton Gartino Adam is not better than Matt, if anything, I think you really couldn't say one was better than the other. Adam is much faster, and he has a lot busier of a playing style than Matt, but Matt, especially recently, plays stuff that is much more diverse. I'm a drummer of 12 years, and I can kind of tell what Adam will be playing next, and I used to with Matt, but Matt like I said has a got a ton more diverse.
@briankoch9786

Garrett Crawford Both are great drummers, but if you think Adam is faster, and a lot "busier" than Matt, you are wrong by a long shot.
@patrickbrandsma
9 жыл бұрын
Garrett Crawford you are absolutely right! Often I think I know Matt his drumparts and i will be airdrumming it, but then I find out it's again to complex to play exactly like Matt. It makes me suprised every time i listen to ABR, especially the rescue and restore album. But than i will be smiling because how much it inspires me to practice. With texas and july you feel exactly what is coming. The crash 8 note leading and than a quarter note lead by the china with a breakdown, and so on... Really everything in 4/4.
Great song and band, still think ABR are better with breakdowns and overall flow.

Im playing with them tonight! Super stoked.
That was incredible, I'm seeing ABR in February and these guys are playing with them and until, now I've never heard of them. Now I know, this show is going to be awesome! I love the fact that there is so much talent in the Christian Metal scene! MAKE A JOYFUL AND RAUCOUS NOISE UNTO THE LORD!!!!!!!
amazes me everytime
I like how real his screams sound.. Doesn't sound like there was much work done on is screams in the studio if any at all, I like it!
This takes me all the way back to my middle school days
can't wait to see them in december!!!!!
I've only seen videos, Adam kills it! See that stick trick he does in the little guitar break, blows my mind every time!
seeing this live next month in singapore!! cant wait!!
I just popped in an old cd from about a year and a half ago in the car with this song on it, powerful experience. I hadn't listened to metalcore for a while. THEM DRUMZ!
saw these guys again last night 2 more shows left for good. the turnout was amazing and the stage was rushed at the end huddled and singed with the band. of course this song was the encore

The old metalcore scene needs to come back, it's what got me into metalcore. This is my favorite sub genre, and all of my top three bands are metalcore.
this was my favourite in high school
