TEXAS CARP FLY FISHING. Missing footage but a great day on the water.

Nate and I head out to one of the carp spots to see what our friends are up to. We managed to get some good shots and land a few sight casting these beautiful fish.

Tips on fishing for carp? In 17 years of fly fishing I've only ever caught one. I've pretty much given up on them because I'm clearly doing something wrong.

Presentation is everything. You need to land that fly as soft as possible. Go to a place where they are plentiful and train your eyes to look for them. Be as stealthy as you can. It took me forever to figure em out, and now they come a lot easier. Just keep at it, when you spook a bunch of em you start to figure out what not to do. Also, don’t get to down on yourself, you can do everything right and sometimes they still won’t eat.
