Tetbury Woolsack Races Return - BBC Points West - 15th May 1971

More good news for fans of quirky Gloucestershire traditions - the woolsack racing is returning Tetbury for the first since before the pandemic. The contest started in 1972 and sees competitors carrying 60 pound sacks of wool up and down a steep hill in the town. The races will be back over the May Bank Holiday but another race is on to get the old sacks replaced that have split after being left for so long. Here’s our Gloucestershire reporter, Steve Knibbs…
