Please read the Safety Data Sheets with those powder pillows (NitraVer5)! Should have gloves and probably perform in a fume hood.

Pipetting Ammonium Nitrate is a dangerous task since even the smallest dose can be lethal / cause terminal disease ( cancer )

For very high concentrations of nitrates, how do we measure them ?

Probably dilute the sample with D. I water and get the reading, later on multiple with the dilution factor

Hach has written procedures for ALL of the pre-stored methods in the DR3900 Spectrophotometer and this is one of them. Check out their website at www.hach.com
