To be fair and more accurate comparison both trackers needs to be hidden in the same exact spot. Have each person come find their tracker hidden by a third person so neither person knows the location that the other person found their tracker.

airtag is useless right now. my cat is missing more than 24hrs and the location shows the same since yesterday

the actual value is in the network factor of airtags. I'm an android user but the fact is airtags are findable much more easily as it connects to ALL iphones compared to Tile which only connects to Tile users IF the tile user signs up for a premium account, which I'm gonna bet not that many do. Once Google makes some tracking device that connects to ALL ANDROIDS than there is no competition unless you live in a place like Korea which has a TON of Samsung devices for Samsung Tags. With that sad Samsung ownership is quite high so I do have Samsung SmartTags and the samsung tags have a much longer range than the current Apple AirTags so my SmartTags have worked really well in USA, Spain, and Brazil thus far with the Samsung network (also free).

Samsung use to make good phone. Now they copy all the features from iPhone that we don't want. No more SD card, no more headphone jack. Harder to get the battery changed. I'm sure next Samsung will slow our older phones down to make us upgrade like Apple does. 😢

Note that iPhones have UWB (ultra wide band) thus gives you precision location abilities which is better than Tile. Tile will find you the general location unless you have Bluetooth on and close by.

Tile is a joke! It can be used to guess if your item is within 50 feet from you or not and then you play the guessing game.

airtag will not always be best. what would be best is a gps tracker that communicates directly to satellite and then to your phone so your device can’t be found and thrown away by the person who stole your items

What you mention is just something different out of the debate. However, I am curious, did you find any product similar to Airtag or Tile (in portability and price) that uses GPS or GNSS instead of Bluetooth, because if you said it is because you have an example, it would be awesome to have a look at it. I mention this because to built what you say is not just a gps but also a system inside the device, and that could make the device less portable and then is out of the discussion because it does not have the same applications and purposes as this product

I had both AirTag and Tile, if you are using Tile it is more convenient when the wallet is lost. But for daily basic, I would go with the AirTag, it shows you the directions to find the wallet around the house while Tile is only ringing when you are within a range

It connect to some one else. Don’t buy it

Both connect to someone else. Tiles connect to other tiles and phones with the tile app and AirTags connect to other Apple products.

Tile tags are garbage cost the same as an AirTag and has a non replaceable battery meaning you have to buy it again, which incidentally costs as much as an AirTag. Get a clue a tie i don’t think so. Maybe for an entitled kid like yourself mommy and daddy can buy you another one.
