    I love this video because it shows how you should really find your own way of styling because every hair is different. I’m transitioning my hair right now and when I first tried this technique it looked awful. Then I just left my hair alone. Now I use the brush again and it looks good 😂 It’s really a try and error process.

    If you did smaller sections it might work better. It pulled your roots straight when you did really large sections so the curls were more wonky. It works really well for me because I have pretty drastically different curl patterns and it helps make them look more similar to each other.

    This technique actually does work on my hair since my hair is very thick and very frizzy. This helps make sure my hair isn’t too frizzy, however, based on what I’ve seen with your other videos, I feel like this technique would weigh your hair down more. Im happy you tried it out though!!

    I think it looks beautiful! I've read that you need to section it off to get more volume on top. Also, your hair must be super wet even if that means spraying sections as you go. I wouldn't give up just yet!

    I do this every wash day. For my flat roots I use Bondi Boost thickening therapy spray. I always refer to it as my root lift spray. This is an amazing brand and I don't understand why it is not talked about more often. Their hair masks are absolutely amazing. And their Heavenly oils is well heavenly. I don't ever hear anybody talk about this brand and if you haven't tried it you are really missing out because it is a fantastic line. It is a bit pricey, but absolutely worth it. I have so many hair products it's quite disgusting. I have put three shelves up in my bathroom and I have two huge baskets of backups in my closet. Why I keep feeling the need to buy more is beyond me. Maybe I should seek therapy, but Hair Care in skincare makes me feel good and living with a husband that has stage 4 pancreatic cancer oh, it's important that I feel good. I have used the Aveda thickening spray and I have also used the curlsmith foam and nothing has gotten me results like the Bondi boost thickening spray which is very easy to use because it's just a spray.

    Def a technique not for every curly girl. Its not for me and my curls either. As a hairdresser as well I do think it manipulates the curls in a different direction and pattern your natural curls fall in. However, I've seen many curly girls use the technique and it seems to work for them so to each everyone's own. Do what works best for your hair type.

    Oh my God! SAME!!! A few months ago I tried this technique for several weeks...I never liked the result. I always felt like I was forcing my hair to take a shape that my hair didn't want(curly hair is wild), and no matter how hard I tried to lift the roots and dry upside down, they ALWAYS stayed flat. And there's no need to mention all the time wasted...

    This is how I style mine but I'm not sure what you were doing with the handle trying to get it out. You like flipped or something? To get some better volume you pull the length up, not down, and twist around the handle. Smaller section are definitely needed. Should have mid eat and below, right below crown and then the top and of course do multiple in each section. I never separate curls by making sure I've got my sections good. It does take a little bit to get used to but it's been a while for me now and it takes me about 10 minutes to do everything. New techniques definitely need to be practiced for every person. I say give it another shot before throwing in the towel. Tweek it for your hair and you could get amazing results.

  • @lindakoberna3465

    @lindakoberna3465

    I think I do mine like yours. I don't remember having to twist the handle. I always start with the handle up and like you always sad I go away from the scalp. I would love to see a video of how you do yours if that's possible. There's always a chance that I can learn something new. It doesn't take me any more than 10 minutes either. It's the sectioning that is the most difficult for me because you can't just do it on your head the way she is doing it and expect to have any Valium. But doing it in sections is a little bit difficult. If you have any tips and tricks for me or if you have a video available, I would love if you would share it. I also plop after I do this for about 10 minutes before I go in to diffuse. My issue is frizz. And it doesn't matter what I do, what I use, I've done the olaplex, the K18, I've used the oils. My hairdresser says I definitely need a keratin treatment. That was not something I really was excited about because I was afraid I was going to lose my curls but she said no I wont. And then again she's not a curly hair specialist so it makes me nervous but this phrase makes me crazy. I had my friend's daughter tell me once that I had a black person's hair. I was like what does that even mean? I styled it straight for so long. At first I use the straightener and then when I started buying Amika products I use their blow dryer brush. But I was doing really good at making sure I was constantly doing it curly and the other day I had to be somewhere and I had to get my hair done fast so I had to use my Amica stiler and now it is straight and it feels softer. So I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I am sleeping on a silk pillowcase and wrapping my head at night, I am not shampooing more than twice a week ever. I do regular olaplex treatment and switch between that and K18 and I use good shampoos, all my products are high-end, but this frizz is going to be the death of me. And when I don't use my thickening spray my hair gets very frizzy on the top. The crown area where we tend not to put the cream and gel so it doesn't weigh our hair down. I get nothing but frizz. My hair is definitely not oily, I don't think it's ever been a wheelie in my life. But no matter how much I am asked and treat, this frizz has got to go.
