That has to be over horizon? What elevation were you on?

@@Irongrip62 I am on an 1000m (3000ft) elevation and the receiving end was almost sea level (0m). There is some hills between so its not pure line of sight for sure.

Thanks! Yes you can. The devices use their addresses and network id to for a group that can talk between each other.

The code for the decices is in the video description. The modules I used talk to the microcontroller via serial. It quite straight forward but it depends on the modules used.

Nope. LoRa is only intended to be used with very small data packets like sensor data or control signals.

Frequency is dependent on the region. Here in Europe we use 868MHz for LoRa. Everything else was as default. Do you have line of sight between the modules? If you don't then the range will be much shorter.

Thanks! The app is called Serial USB Terminal. It has a white icon with a yellow connector on it.

You need to have a line of sight between the two in order to get more. As soon as something blocks the view, the range gets limited.

Yes but only to control the LoRa modules. In fact, I use NodeMCU in the video and I program them through the Arduino IDE.

@@TasteTheCode i am receivent from powermeter the data at 9600 bauds only one direction. the distance to the house is 60 m. I plan to use a 2nd ryrl898 to receive and decode.

I guess so... I have no idea what the power meter uses. Its too specific to know but you should be able to do it.

GSM has its place. This is only good for small data packages and sensor data. It can't do any voice or streaming.
