    My Nokia 6 (2017) has fallen from about 1.5 meters on metal bars screen down at a flat angle without a scratch, on the corner on solid concrete and tile floors without any damage, a slight scuff, it's been dropped at least a dozen times from various heights and fell on screen and the body and yet it is still in a perfect shape. Job well done.

    I've got one and love it! (except for the lackluster camera lol) I'm happy to see it have made the channel. Great video, as always! My only concern here is the conflation of the protector and the gorilla glass 5 screen, especially in the comments by people who don't own one but might have considered getting one - the screen itself doesn't scratch at a level 3. (01:20) The included protector does - which can be replaced with a readily available cheap glass protector that scratches at a level 6/7 or simply removed, if need be. Factory installation of it is only a little different than including one in the box with the phone. This is in contrast to the plastic on the s7 active which is noted to be fused to the glass and therefore can be considered fully part of the screen. Perhaps that could be clarified a little bit in a quick teardown video - it would be very interesting to see the water resistance aspects of the phone analyzed and have a look at repairability, anyways! Thanks!

    Zack, I think a lot of people would love it if you verified the IP ratings on phones seeing as a lot of phones now are water resistant. I'm sure you could concoct a test worthy of this channel.

  • @madmayhem2000

    @madmayhem2000

    Fukoshi I think that the information gained from the IP rating testing is probably more relevant to a lot of people, as 99% of people won't be taking apart their phones. Also Zack takes apart phone that are dead like the vivo phone, where the display failed when he tried to crack the glass over the fingerprint sensor on the screen. I think it's still feasible to do the test beforehand without needing a 2nd phone, which is, you guessed it, the same price. ;)

    The feature I am most interested in on a cell phone is call quality followed by a close second of battery life. This huge battery on the phone is what attracted me to it along with its high durability. I'd love to have a phone where I could just make phone calls on it that sounded great, and didn't have to be babied.

I have a job where i need to use 2 employee battery-consuming apps, also google maps, soundcloud and even Mobile Legends (break time) for 8 full hours, and I still have enough battery when i'm done with my shift. Water resistentancy is very good. Only the camera is not as nice as other models... It all depends on what is most important for you in a phone I guess.

    I seriously like this design and that idea of being tough. Both this and the Galaxy S Actives are like a dream to me. But it's very expensive to me, they don't sell in my country and they have some annoying imperfections (plastic camera? Are you serious?).

    You should test the CAT S60 it is their flagship phone and even more durable then then the S41. Plus it has FLIR wich is pretty cool.

    Patrick Bateman it's a piece of shit. Mine had a worthless camera, terrible screen, very few useful features, etc. Just a worthless piece of crap in general.

    i wouldn't go as far as to call it a piece of shit, it just has a very specific target group, namely engineers. if you're not into engineering it is most definetly not for you ;P

    I'm a civvie and I like mine. The screen is small and low res (720p) and I never use the camera, but it's tough enough to use as a weapon. Flashlight hotkey on the side is more useful than anything apple ever "invented"

    Ohw well I was looking at the Cat S60, it looks decent, 5 meter rating... but as an engineer, I couldn't go with a phone that didn't have 5Ghz wifi, or relies on a physical microswitch to close the waterproof "door", I can see it falling and getting loos, then falling into water (because that shit happens so often). I went for the S41. The only thing missing here is a good camera and decent processor (I'd pay premium for that), every time I get to use a "decent" phone I get a little bit jealous, but then again those physical buttons are a must when using gloves all day every day, and I've droped my phones enough time that I just pick it up like an old tv remote.

    the switches actually only improve the water protection, if i remember well it's waterproof untill 1m under water without the switches switched and 5m with the switches switched. but i can get it, if it's only for the robustness i think i'd prefer rubber too, but i also like the look of it. ;P the new s61 is a lot better if you ask me though. it's way more practical, it has a laser measurement meter, which imho is 10 times better than an infra red camera, in addition to an improved infra red camera and air quality analyzer. i'm not looking at the internal specs though (because i'm horrible with those :P)

    A feature I’d want from this phone on mine would be water amazing resistance since my top speakers got messed up after I forgot to take out my phone from my pockets when I went into the beach.
