    I work at a company that uses lasers to cut some of its products and we always have a honeycomb bed on our universal lasers and preco lasers. I'm just now starting to look into a laser I can use at home to start my own craft business and I'm shocked that honeycomb is not used and often sold with these desktop laser cutters. I can't imagine not using it. There's one plant where I work that uses a solid flat metal bed, and they always get terrible cuts from their products. I tried suggesting a honeycomb bed and they didn't even know what I was talking about. I guarantee if they switch they'll never go back unless they have small little parts that fall through the hobeycomb. As you were saying, the only issue I've had that wasn't related to g-code was an unlevel bed. However, one of the engineers messed with it and that's what caused the bed to not be level. Once it was fixed, we never had an issue again. Thank you for stressing the importance of the honeycomb bed! ❤

    I really like your videos. You come across as very knowledgeable, humble and trustworthy person. I saw your videos and at the end I decided for this machine. Their reputation with customer service was the final factor between the S1, Wecreat and this. Thank you very much!

    Thanks, I really like the video. Extremely helpful. KZread is flooded with xTool, but nothing else. So it is hard to make a decision. I’m retired, but I am going to start a small gig. This is helpful. I like the absolute measurement of the machine. But the S1 is tempting. But the fact that it is MK2 it absolute makes it nice. Good luck young Sir

    Yeah, I almost bought an Xtool and glad I didn't. They are all advertising and tend to overstate what the machines can do, and good luck getting support. I have both generations of Rolys and love them. They also have the best support in the business.

    It is the size of the bed, and the two point Auto focus marking system of the S1. I like engraving on Flasks and other curved surfaces. I am just doing gifts right now. But I like the absolute orientation of the MK2. Just got my MONPORT K40 Pro, but the bed is small. Anyway just starting and Looking forward in seeing your follow up videos on the MK2. Thanks for your time Sir@@ValleyForged

    I look forward to the video where you calibrate the Roly LaserMATIC mk2. I have a lot of woodwork pieces I have already made on which I want to engrave various items. For me, that "laserengraving thing" is still a quest. I have yet to figure out what I like most (am going to like because it is on the way) but what I have seen so far I am impressed. Maybe after some time in find a 20W is not enough and I want, maybe by the end of this year a 40W if it is available by then for the Lasermatic MK2. The only downside, of any laserengraver is photo engraving. I don't like that with any laser engraver what i have seen so far. But I didn't buy it for that. But anyway thanks again for your good video. Ciao

    To fix the table moving when you're going fast, you can try to get a sand table. We have equipment for testing that's very expensive at work and we use sand tables or marble tables to keep it from shaking. I'm sure a sand table is probably the cheaper option and works almost just as well from what I've seen

    I really like your emphasis on consistency. A lot of people don't seem to care, but I sure do. I'm looking at combining two hobbies and this likely will do the job. Trusting the company AND product for the money I'm sunk costing is what matters. For that I need to know it can do the task I want consistently. Great Review. I expect I'm buying one for my Christmas present, I'll use your link, be sure of that. Thank you.

    Over and over guys applaud Roly's customer service. As yet I have not made a decision as to which machine, 30/10 or 20/10, however the decision as to which company is a no brainer. To start out I purchased a book on Laser Engraving by S. Spence. One of his main pieces of advice was WHAT IS THE COMPANIES REPUTATION AS TO CUSTOMER SERVICE? I get it.

    Thank you for your thorough review. I've been researching lasers for several months looking to replace my very old AtomStack (originally 5w, but upgraded laser module to 10w). I've been looking at the Creality Falcon2 40w and the Lasermatic MK2. I think I would rather go with the 30/10 by Roly than the Falcon2 40w. It seems your review is in line with what I see from the others. btw... I love the Lord's Prayer Cross mother's day roses I got from your Etsy store.

Let me know which way you decide to go, and how you like it. Of course if you buy the Roly, use my link :). I can honestly say, I am really enjoying the LaserMATIC, and it is doing everything I need it to do. I plan on doing a whole series on how to start a small business with this machine soon. Cheers!

    Hi! I would love to have one, but Roly has no KLARNA montly pay option. How many Lasermatic Roly would sell, if they let Europe customers buy by Klarna or some other same like Klarna.. These days nobody has those money to hobby laser, even they could make some money later.. Thank you for very good videos!! Bless you!

    Thanks for all of your videos. Huge help. Do you think the 20w would be able to make clean cuts on the Lord's cross like the 30w?

  • @ValleyForged

    @ValleyForged

    My guess is that for the 6mm it would take two passes, where the 30w takes one. I think the 20w is perfect for 4mm or less, but for 6mm I prefer the 30w for sure.

    I have been watching you for quite a while and I very much enjoy what you show and explain. I am not looking to make this my business (I am a high school teacher - but I see retirement in the near future). I really like your 'Lord's prayer' cross. Have you tried it with the outline of the letters etched in to separate them from each other? If you have been asked before, and have previously answered, disregard my question. I will go back and find your video on the project to see if you answer it there.
