Testing the bigger 3/8 inch wet sandblaster

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I recently did a video on a 1/4 inch wet sandblaster (link below) and was impressed so I bought a bigger 3/8 inch set to try with a bigger pressure washer but maybe my washer was not quite big enough, I was not so impressed with it. Then I compared it with a pressure pot blaster with the same sand and the pot blaster did about 3 times faster.

Great comparison. I've used the dry (with the box, not open-air), but not the wet. Always did a fine job.

It would take a $20k blast cabinet to do what my pressure pot did that I only paid a few hundred for twenty some years ago. The wet blast is good for containing the mess for outdoor blasting on a budget.

My Boss and I fought and fought one summer with that same Hydro Sandblaster unit. Its just too finicky to fuss around with and slow going with all the hoses. (we used both silca sand And Black oxide abrasive)

Something may have been wrong with the equipment or setup, this definitely has it's place. I think the smaller unit is better for the home user.

Maybe switch the sand and try again.
