If you change lane then you should follow the right procedure to not hit anyone; back mirror, side mirror, blind spot, indicate, move over. If you don’t know that then you have no business behind a steering wheel. Miss seeing one car while flying across the lanes like a maniac and you’ve caused a major collision with multiple vehicles at highway speeds.

He keeps referring to the auto dimming headlights as "laser lights." But the auto-activating high beam, as well as shifting light direction to avoid hitting other cars, also known as anti-dazzle, has been around for quite a while. The LED headlight models had the exact same feature. And even the previous Bi-Xenon HID models had similar behavior. It's all controlled by a camera on the backside of your rear view mirror. Laser lights are just a new type of high intensity light with better focus/coverage control. Everything else about their functionality is exactly the same as was available with LEDs previously.

As I understand it they are very expensive & not likely to be use by much of the motoring traffic. Also I have some questions: 1) Did the adaptive beam respond to its own retroreflection light in the highway sign on the left at 02:30 ? 2) Do the adaptive beams also respond to unlit pedestrians and/or bicyclists ?

Besides, it's probably usually leased for 5 years then moved on. Or it's rented by high-class chauffeur companies. This is what I like about the Germans. First to innovate.
