Tim Taylor I grew up in an era when you kept things a secret! Like fishing spots or surfing! I fished for GT’s for 30 years and since the KZreadS started posting videos like this I’ve seen a huge decrease in numbers of GT’s being caught here in Hawaii. It’s sad to see people doing what this guy is doing daily! I can’t say this is quality since he looks and fishies a bit inexperienced. Anyone who catches baby jacks and keeps them for bait is someone I’m not going to be seen with. C&R the jacks people! Especially the baby’s! Killing a baby jack is taking #50 jacks out of the sea through out that 1 baby jacks life that he could’ve had and Reproduced. Anyways keep fishing and C&R 🤙🏻

Hay guys, thanks for the video it was great!! Enjoy your time with family & have fun. Best wishes🎣😎🇬🇧

Awesome video. Getting to fish Costa Rica this summer. Super excited and studying up.
Hi MR Skipper. I am fairly new and found fishing as my new hobby and obsession for the past 2 years I have learned so much from your videos and appreciate all your help. I just wanted to thank you for your informative and very helpful videos
Keep doing what your doing. You must have been really excited to use your new 13 ft rod....can't blame you either a rod ...plus water = fun. So to all who complain about that big rod ....you would have tried out your new rod too. Hey Skipper just have fun with it . keep on keeping on
I learned a lot. Thankyou
This video is excellent. I grew up freshwater bass fishing and i want to try my hand at shore fishing. Very instructional.
Love the new rod. I fish phenix rods too but freshwater rods only. Have the recon2 model and 2 X models. 12 and 13.
Nice catch. Great tips

this is awesome lessons on how to use lures
Nice video.. good fish..
awesome video. you've got a really good rod too must cast a mile with the lure with that setup. i personally prefer softbaits but its tricky to match the weight to make it swim naturally but once you get it its worth it. my favourite softbait styles the weedless style. really a hassle wen getting snagged
great show, guys.

good job! thank you.
Every fisherman on youtube: 200 spinning rods, 180 baitcasters, 700 catfish rods Me, with a 200 shekel rod:👁👄👁
Maybe the buck tail always works because your pretty much bait fishing not really a lure anymore 🤷🏿♀️

You are one of my primary teachers showing me how to surf fish. I have went a few times and I haven’t caught anything yet. I have to drive over two hours to reach the ocean so I don’t get a chance to go that often but this coming week I’m going to go again with my squiddy bits and more knowledge of how to read the beach and see what I can do I will keep you posted. Love the infor, easy to understand even for a beginner I have to say the video editing has come a long way, more and more professional Suggestion on these type of tutorial video, how about a split screen , so you can see the lure and the action of the rod at the same time

Great vid
Badasss setup bro! I was looking at that phenix rod for awhile the 11ft med/heavy one, glad too finally see a better view of the rod, now I’m definitely gonna buy one. The best part you can do is adjust the reel on the rod high or low

Happy to help, the 13’ was so nice. Nice and lightweight, also great flex. I like the adjustable reel seat as well! All in all a great rod. If you do get one, we have a link in our description to the 13’ on amazon, they are just starting to put them on amazon prime.
You had a follower at 4:49 Lol I’d totally be out there with a 7.5ft bass rod 😂😂

I concur, right at the rocks about 4:45, i kept rewinding and playing to make sure my eyes were'nt playing tricks on me.
If you tactical clip straight to the sp minnow and eliminate the stock split-ring, you might like the action better without having to re-tie on your leader..nice new rod! 👍

Thanks for the tips mate, ive only just started using lures and plastics and never seem to catch anything.. I think the live actions would be the best for me to just slowly reel in and stop every now and then as the popping of plastics hasn't caught me much so far.. I always take a second rod and just chuck a bloodworm on a hook and end up catching a flathead or some small bream but would love to just be able to chuck a lure on and get a few fish! Thanks again and cheers from Australia!

Bucktail is so reliable it's still included in military survival kits. If you can get your hands on one that'd be awesome
13 foot rod is crazy long for poppers, especially on the rocks. 10 for should be considered max length, 7’9 -8’8 are ideal for poppers & stickbaits.
Way to go Erin!

Erin says thank you wasabi!!
My dad used to catch a lot of stripers with the bucktail lure.
So I've recently got back into fishing and I've been watching your channel and been learning a lot. The only question I have for this video is that in the past you've talked about removing the treble hooks on your top water lures but have them on in this video. So have you switched back to treble hooks because you've noticed you're not catching as many fish?
I always prefer bucktail . and really works for grouper
You ever thinking about using Shimano Tranx 300 or 400 baitcasting reel for them big fish? 😎👍
Great video, one suggestion, tge rod that you are using is to big for throwing popper, it can be difficult to work out the popper, I used that same popper with a 7ft rod medium heavy brand Tsunami and aslo cast very far and you can popped the popper the way you have to popped it. Keep it up with the great videos✌🏻

I disagree. That popper was designed for surf fishing. The rod he’s using is fine for distance casts from the beach with that kind of popper.
@Dayrondecuba01

@@Native20559 popper is for popping, splash water to attract the fish, he just reeling in, I use popper a lot, and I know to get atcion on it you have to popped it, otherwise they would call it popper

Please make a video about lure retrievers.. is it worth buying?
Nice lure i want to have that lure
Lol, nice way of trying to get those squiddy bits to sell, "we always catch fish with this"
I personally can’t fish with a rod over 9 foot off the rocks.. just doesn’t make sense to me. I do just fine and I don’t get tired. Throw the baby fish back! Especially the Jacks. You’re Popper technique needs a bit more of a pop and splash and a bubble trail. But it’s very hard to do that on a 13 foot surf rod. Get yourself a popping rod and I’m sure you’ll be catching more. 🤙🏻
Going there this year for some rooster fish. Any tips on where to stay, other things to do, equipment rentals?
Gift some set..lure boss here in the phils 👌🏽😁
go Squiddy bits!!!
I’ve also fished Riviera Maya shoreline. No great results, lots of needlefish and houndfish extremely dangerous. No tarpon, no snook. Some grunts and cudas. The shore is razor sharp and I don’t think we would be able to pull out a big fish. My father got broken off several times running 80# fluoro leader. It is a beautiful place to fish, but not sure it is the best when compared to Florida shores.
How many sections does that 13 foot surf rod, break down to? When I fish on vacation, I will take smaller (inshore) tackle, to pack a wider variety. And some scented baits are always productive. I hope you caught some bonefish & permit?
Skipper there was a fish that was going after the lure of you did see
For poppers you want to keep the rod under your arm and the the popper scoop the water that’s why the mouth is like that and for bomber lures or glider baits you want to move a little faster so you get what’s called a reaction bite before the fish realizes what it is
Nice sir
I wonder if the buck tails or whatever will work well in Australia
New subs: )
Did you ever do bottom fishing with bait off the surf in Playa del Carmen? Everyone there seems to be using lures instead and I was wondering why.
How do you transport your poles outside the US? I go home to the Philippines & i had to use a KastKing telescopic rod to fish(salt water).
Hi...What oz bucktail are you using?
Erin gets the big one!
how do you bring lures and hooks on a plain?
