The kayaks coming over the falls were surprising, what a challenge. getting out with new camera in the conditions. As I only do stills, am happy to stay with my XT2, works for me but XH2 looks great. Loved the 3rd image.

Cracking selection of images Ian. Specs on the new camera look very impressive as do the images. I was at the waterfalls with Gareth Danks last week & and some others but left after the 1st waterfalls as I felt it was going to be a busy day with people so wanted some quiet photography. Ended up on the same part of the river (the Nedd) as your last image but way further up. atb Alan

Superb waterfall images Ian in difficult conditions, the shot at the top of the falls was superb and the one at the end with the leaves gives that autumn vibe. Re the 18-55 lens is that the kit lens? Thanks for getting out in the weather to record this video can’t have been easy Ian.

Great video as usual, Ian! I agree with Jon. The third shot is killer! Congrats on the new gear. I too picked up the XH2 but ended up returning it. I can attest that it is a SUPERB camera with stunning resolution. For me, it just wasn't a full fit. I needed it for my event shoots and it wasn't quite there with the burst mode. Looking forward to the XT5 debut.

Your 3rd image was loverly! I am in the market to upgrade my XT3 (those 40mp are compelling for cropping). Just can't decide between the X-H2 or X-T5. Top LCD, and bigger grip vs 3 way tilt and old fashioned dials. Would be interesting to hear your views when you review the camera.

Excellent video as always Ian. It was pretty much a given that you would go with the XH2. Pleasing that you have stuck with Fuji. I very rarely do video so for me, The xt3 is more than enough camera for my needs. I can see why you changed though. Some folk seem to want to spend there hard earned cash on the latest camera instead of concentrating on the actual image taking process. At the end of the day the camera is just a tool. Any reasonable camera can take a decent photo. Some of my favourite images have been taken on my phone. It just depends what you intend to do with your photos once edited. Cheers.

So true Steve, I wouldn't have upgraded had it not been for the high shutter count of my x-h1 and the better video specs 👍

It's been a good year for Fuji. That 40MP sensor looks amazing. I just upgraded my XT4 with an XH2s mainly for video and the eye AF seems a lot better so far. My XT3 is my main stills camera, but I'm thinking either an XH2 or XT5, not sure which one. I am surprised how nice the XH body is to shoot with even not having the XT dials, etc. That's going to be a tough choice. I may go with the XT5 just because the 3 way screen is my preference for a mainly stills camera.

  • @luxdalet

Agree. Hopefully X-T5 goes back to X-T3's style of screen, or maybe borrows the sony's hybrid tilt/flip on a7R V.

Excellent Video, Ian and quite a proof on Fuji's weatherresistance... Well, I was actually quite surprised that you went for the X-H2 instead of X-T5? I am mainly into fotography and therefore enjoy the classic dials and also not fully articulated rear display very much... I see you are stil using the mighty 2,8-4/18-55 lens which is not listed by Fuji with regards to full perfotmance with the 40MP Xtrans V processor. So if you consider doing a future review, I would be interested in your practical experience on the additional detailing been provided by the new sensor and the practical implications when using these older lenses since a lot of Fuji users will still want to continue using their 10-24, 18-55 and 16-80 zoom lenses. Thanks again, Bernd

I went for the x-h2 because I shoot as much video as I do stills and the x-h2 has a cf express card slot and internal pro res video recording which is essential for me when shooting video for clients. Previously I had to run my video through an Atomos recorder to get pro res. Now i can do it in camera which is a big help 👍 If I was just shooting stills, it would be the x-t5 every day of the week 👍👍 I think the 18-55 looks OK, the 10-24 looks great. I feel its clever marketing on fujis part. Obviously they want everyone to upgrade the glass as well. I should say though, the IQ is a lot better through my 50-140, but you would expect that given the price. I will be doing some thorough testing during the months ahead, so stay tuned 👍👍

  • @bernie_xj

@@ian_worth Thanks Ian, I will stay tuned. So far I am still quite happy with my X-H1/ X-E3 since I am mainly doing stills and look forward when the intial hype is over for a better AF, battery life. As a hobby enthusiast I am not so sure about the higher resolution, probably worth it for better details when reducing the a shot to 4x6MP and in order to be able to crop, but otherwise its a pain because of the shear amount of data processing and storage capacity been required. So far I am on 24MP JPEG&Raw (compressed) and storage demand really grew during the last 3 years...

Hello Ian Worth, when it comes to Fujifilm photography there are two people I enjoy watching; you and Omar Gonzales, and of course a few others as well. Ian if I may ask since you have been shooting with the Fuji XT3 and using various lense, would you mind to make a video to compare the two cameras photographically how the differ, the new one being a high resolution and the latter being a 26-megapixels? I specifically like to know if your previous lenses you used with the XT3 work as well with the XH2 that you are currently using. I could not find a video that gives me the comparison and the lens used that are already available, it seems that with the XH2 Fujifilm seems to emphasise the new lenses they have built that have such as 1.4 or 2.8 aperture to allow more light for the higher resolution sensor. At least this is how I understood. What you have shown what you have shot with the camera in your hands the images are excellent and you have a very good eye in your compositions. Looking forward to see more of your images with the new XH2. Cheers and happy shooting.

I'm interested to see your journey with the XH2, I'm looking to upgrade from my X-T3 but I'll wait until the X-T5 is released before deciding between it and the XH2. Whats your thoughts on the XH2's image quality, dynamic range, low light/high ISO performance over the X-T3? Thanks again for the great content, I'm an amateur photographer and find your channel very informative.

Congratulations on your new camera! But what about the image quality with your old lenses? With the XT10-24 and the Xt 18-55? They are not recommended at Fuji for your camera and here in the German forums the XT 10-24 on the XH2 is criticized just at the edges of the quality. What experience have you had so far? The lens chatter and IS sound is completely inaudible with this lens on the X-H2, whereas I could hear it clearly in video footage on my X-Pro3.
