I think Flex Tape takes 7 days to reach maximum strength, and I'd recommend putting the tape on the interior and the exterior of the bucket (or any other object) if there's a leak in it.

It does actually work well. We have a 16' by 4 ' pool that holds several thousand gallons of water. Realized it had leaks as we were setting it up last year and the flex tape fixed it and held all summer long. We shall see this year how it works

Flex glue worked so much better sealing up. I like how the flex tape is so strong.
