I've used my corded Rapala electric knife for over 15 years. Still love it. I usually use the longer blades on panfish and the shorter blades on eyes and perch. Longer blades seem to flex more and easier to use on those taller bodied fish.

I grew up scaling fish and eating fillets with the skin on. Then my wife’s stepdad introduced me to an electric fillet knife and I don’t mind cleaning ‘em now. Game changer 💯. Definitely recommend cordless! Thanks for another great vid.

The cardboard cutting board is the best for filleting fish, I prefer a 18 pk which I usually have about empty by fillet time 🤙 you run a great channel Sobi and I appreciate the work you put in and information you share

The best electric knife blade I've found for pan fish is the Berkley SlimFillet blade it flexes as much as your hand knife.

I used to be a firm believer in traditional filet knives until I saw my brother use an electric. Absolutely work fantastically with practically no waste. You can get through a whole bucket of fish in no time and don’t have to worry about the blades going dull and needing to keep resharpening the blade multiple times.

give it time and you'll master it. Mr Twister corded knife with an American Angler Shark blade. need to grind off a little bit to fit properly, but definitely worth the blade upgrade. more flex then the standard blades

You’ll get the hang of the electric knife! The only time I use my filet knife is removing y bones in a northern. I like to remove the ribs before I skin them. No method is wrong find what works for you!

  • @catchonedrinktwo

Similar to cutting out the rib cage, but the pin bones are embedded in the meat. Feel for the pins and make the cut above(toward the dorsal) on them.
