HELLO FRIENDS!! the stream has been released from contentID jail by 5 minute crafts!! hope you guys enjoy it, and a quick note -- there was a small miscommunication between me and carly about the heat gun vs the blow torch for the candle hack -- i meant heat gun lol, which we kind of figured out live on the stream. so, please disregard that bit. anyway, hope you guys have a great week and we'll see you next week on *monday* for our monday xmas tree decorating stream!! xoxo, saf

I saw the main channel video before this one :o Loved it. You guys work really hard, and it’s okay if Safiya doesn’t show much emotion for Crusty, she is a professional, and sometimes it isn’t sad until they’re nearing the end. More seriously nearing the end. Like days left. Love the BM updates. Ha ha. When a pet is old or sick the simple things matter. Crusty is like Salem. Pet Sematary. Crust Sematary. Pet Crustmatary.

I think we can concretely say... concrete hacks would be neat! Also, I don't think y'all are being callous at all about Crusty. He's over 100 years old in human years and it is so obviously clear how much y'all love him and care about him and are doing your absolute best to make sure he's happy and comfortable for his final moments. I love Tyler’s non-toxic masculinity vibe, because he’s very manly, just in a nice way. He’s caring, empathetic, and from an outside perspective seems to be decent at handling his emotions. This is kind of just me appreciating Tyler, because he is a wonderful human. Also, this might seem like a really low bar, but he didn’t get angry when Saf mentioned making his ornament pink in the ink hack, which I’ve is different than what I’m used to, as most men in my hometown would probably get angry if someone suggested for them to make something pink. So props to Tyler for being a good person in society that doesn’t really value good people.

I commiserate/resonate/relate to the ancient and decrepit pet life. My elderly dog takes up a lot of my life, (the 25 minute process of feeding her is happening as I watch) and she deserves a good end, and not to be put out to pasture because it's a lot of work for me...I know it's my responsibility as a pet parent. I love her, and am happy to have her in my life still. It's okay to have mixed feelings about the difficulties involved! It's tough! And emotional, confusing, frustrating, and often a lot of gross cleaning. But the love is still there.

okok I watched this live but I had to come back and comment specifically that you should ABSOLUTELY do a cement life hack video. For some reason, five minute crafts used to push their cement hack video onto my Facebook feed ALL. THE. TIME. and every time I was compelled to watch in horror as they poured cement onto rolls of toilet paper, let it harden, and then used it as a fruit bowl. I just have to see it done by someone who isn't five minute crafts so I can finally get the image out of my head because it haunts me to this day.

I love (although it's sad) how similar their situation with Crust is to mine and my dog. He's around 17, blind, deaf, incontinent. He's actually doing pretty well besides being generally disoriented, but his kidneys are very slowly starting to fail. I deeply relate to everything they're saying. I'm facing it the same way as safiya, accepting that he's had a long happy life and every day from now on is kind of a gift and that things turned out the best way possible for him as a dog and us as his humans. And i share the same moments with him of wondering, is this goodbye? Doesn't mean that my heart isn't going to break for a long time after he's gone, i'll be broken.

We had a little old dog who was in a similar position,. She couldn't move on her own anymore, had to be held up to relieve herself, body generally failing, but she would sit and order everyone around from her spot and demand attention. She couldn't do much anymore, but she still loved life and had a lot to say about it. It was hard deciding the right time to put her down, because it seemed like her quality of life was getting worse, but she was so happy to be there. It's hard losing any pet, but I appreciate the time I got to spend with her and come to accept her passing when it was time. Best wishes to you and your sweet boy whatever happens.

He slowed down considerably right before he past away. We gave him a bath (he actually liked them) with lots of bubbles the night before he past away. He was well loved for the 5 years we had him and he passed away curled up in his kitty bed. "feel a little lightheaded" omg this reminds me of when I was in charge of a little event for kids at the library and we were supposed to do cotton ball races where you have a little track on the floor and have to control a cotton ball using a straw and your breath to get it across the whole room. And the kids LOVED it but they didn't know what hyperventilation was and one of them started panicking when they got light-headed and thought they were going to have to go to the hospital. I sat there with them explaining what hyperventilation is and how it works and that all they have to do is sit down for a bit until they feel normal again. So everyone sat down and colored before we got back to the cotton ball races.

Saf and Tyler have always been super PG and trying hard to not offend anyone but this whole thing is her personal life, the fact that she is even mentioning it already is enough (and not necessary) hell, they rescued this grandpa, brought him with CAR across the country, visited the vet soo many times even though every vet told them that he's sooo old even the doctors won't be too optimistic...all of these actions show how much they care for Crusty, how is it okay for ppl to say such insensitive things? I've done the candle/napkin hack before to make candles for my mom and it worked really well! But I used an iron to apply, which is a lot safer, I think, and it applies more evenly, because the flat surface of the iron pushes the napkin onto the slightly melting wax. But it's a really fun and rewarding craft, pretty easy, and the candles burn fine, it doesn't seem like it's more flammable.

The GingerbreadGloveMan hack is 100% what's wrong with hack channels... The premise was you have one hole in one of your gloves. Will you show how to sew the hole shut? Will you show how to fuse interfacing to have an at least half usable glove? Will you make mittens out of the pair? Nope! Making a decoration and not talking about the unusable left over glove! That... Is not what reuse is about. Yes you can do stuff like that if you have a glove with one finger (The middle finger, mind you, not any finger like the premise implied) half ripped off, or if you have lost/destroyed beyond repair the other half of the pair and have the other one slightly damaged. You. Do not. waste a whole pair of gloves for a teensy hole. This is how you get overproduction and waste disposal issues.

I think 5 minute crafts seem to forget that "hacks" are meant to make things cheaper or quicker/easier. Pop up trees are a thing already and I'm pretty sure I easier to just buy one. We used to have one at my office. X

Ok I got here late so I was waiting until the comments were open but I have made a sparkleball (the cups and light thing at the beginning) and they 1) do work and 2) are pretty easy (but yes time consuming). There is a whole website about them - they have been around for many many years. 5 minute crafts just stole the idea. Also I loved the Boy Meets World halloween episode reference.

Our cat Kandi was old like Crusty. We knew with her age and behavior that she wouldn't be with us much longer. She passed away at home and even when you expect it to happen, it is devastating. It's been 7 weeks since she got her angel wings and I cry everyday. All I want for Xmas is an old lady cat back in my life. Devastating and enjoy all your moments with her.

Fun fact about the fake snow hack, those types of projects are often used for kids with autism and/or sensory processing disorder, myself included. Therapist or parents will use it to either allow us to get used to sensory feelings that we are not totally comfortable with, or to get sensory input that we like. In my house, we did it a lot with shaving cream & plastic figurines, sand, fingerpainting, Play-Doh, and gooey substances such as slime . It helped my brother and I figure out what textures we are comfortable with, along with help us to decompress from stressful situations, and get more comfortable with other textures. It’s also just a nice experience in general. I’d recommend it to anyone who has sensory issues, or just general anxiety to decompress.

I've done a clear ornament craft where you poor a few different colors of paint in the ornament and then slowly move them around until the inside of the ornament is completely coated. It turns out really pretty and then you can do whatever colors you want and have tons of different options.

This was a fun video! I love Christmas crafts. 😍 If you decide to continue to use the alcohol inks, here are a few things to remember. Alcohol inks contain resins so you should NOT directly blow on them since those resins can become airborne and get into your lungs. Tim Holtz makes an Alcohol Ink Blower that is very efficient to use and gives the same effect. You CAN put a thumb (preferably covered by a rubber glove) over the opening of the ornament and shake it vigorously. You will get a very similar effect. Alcohol inks can be used on ANYTHING that is nonporous, so don't limit yourselves to ornaments! ☝️😃 You can pounce them on the outside of glass candleholders, drop them on fairy lights to change the color that they glow, drip them down windows, swirl them on acrylic substrates, paint them on glazed ceramics, drop them onto various plastics. Seriously, they're one of the coolest art mediums. 😊 Keep up the creative and lighthearted work! ❤

I bought one of those ear wax remover camera wands a few weeks back because my right ear is really bad for wax impaction because of how twisty the canals are, and I'd sinned and ended up pushing a whole bunch of ear wax back against my eardrum and figured the camera wand ear wax remover thing would help... and it was legit my saving grace ;-; Maybe I've been watching too much Dr. Pimple Popper or maybe it's because so much of my family is in health care, but the wax isn't gross to me. I just kept getting hits of dopamine every time I secured a big chunk of old wax from back there and got to add it to the piece of Kleenex I had with my growing ear wax collection on it xD!! ...Well... at least, until I fumbled my phone and stabbed the inside of my ear canal with the silicon scoop attached to the wand and caused some respectable looking damage to the wall of the canal.... Came super close to busting my eardrum, but I mean, the wax only forms in the outer third of your ear or something, so as long as you keep up with it - it should be less and less of a potential complication/hazard/risk :') Also, I've figured it out o.o' /The real reason that Saf & Tyler are always so shiny-looking under the lights is because they've eaten so much wax/lipstick over the years that they ARE the wax/lipstick now, and the light is exposing them for what they are 🤣🤣😭🤧😂🤣😂🤧😂😂 Lightbulb xD

I know I'm a little late to the show watching this but I get all you're feeling with Crusty...my fur feline bebe Evilbee is 14, gonna be 15 and while I'm happy he's not got incontinence issues, the terror he enacts daily is LOUD CONSTANT MEOWING...he was always the chatty one in the bunch but since we last our other cat this past June, he's just gotten progressively louder, meowing more hours in the day/night, and snappier...everyone's tired of hearing him meow 24/7 but nothing works to quiet him so we're at a loss what to do...but he's definitely older, he's got some kitty heart issues and he's the runt of the litter...still feels like he's healthy and he still runs around like a youthful one but he'd be considered in his "senile" age now

It’s okay Tyler. I’m terrible at doing my hair or anyone’s hair, so I make every effort to not be in a situation where I have to do hair. In high school, I burned my hand on curling iron while trying to do my hair for a drama club thing and now the most I’ll do is straighten my hair because that’s about as good as I can do.

So…….this is going to sound odd to some people but this live fully triggered me and I didn’t expect that! 😂 I’m a little over 2 years sober and the first hack was with a straw and an ornament and the second one involved a torch lighter. I smoked meth out of a light bulb with a straw and heat it with a torch lighter…… I’m a recovering addict and it’s wild that I still have cravings and triggers that are this intense (unintentionally, of coarse) after all this time. Anyway, I love your channel and all the lives from Saf & Tyler! Just wanted to share that odd realization with all who happen to read this comment 7 days after it was posted…..😂

Honestly, our old cat has numerous serious issues, we've had to come to terms with the fact that she could leave us at any point. I do sound quite matter-of-fact about it at times, but that's because I've had to come to terms with it. Doesn't mean I won't ball my eyes out when she finally goes - as I'm sure Safiya and Tyler will do with Crusty. I understand what Tyler said by hoping for the "see you later" moment because that's so much more peaceful than having to take your pet in to have them put to sleep. I'm really hoping my kitty will just go by herself too. I just feel like Safiya and Tyler are such positive people that they don't want to dwell on the idea too much, because they can't do anything to stop the inevitable. And that's okay ❤

I hope I’m not interpreting this wrong but please don’t be worried about the heat gun mixup, we all get confused and do things like that all of the time. The only difference is that the rest of us have the luxury to do it off camera. Carly is ok, she seemed totally ok with it, so us as the viewers- let’s let them make their hacks without making them feel like they have to change something because the chat says so. I know they’re wanting to give us good content but we’re here to WATCH them not CRITICIZE them. So for the love of hot cheeto jalapeños please don’t make Safiya feel bad for being human, and pleaseee don’t make Tyler feel bad for doing something HIS way. Saf + Ty if you read this all my love, we’ll support you no matter how many times you mixup blowtorches and heat guns. ❤️
