Testing an LNG Tank
Ғылым және технология
Board shorts and reef shoes aren't your usual Bechtel workwear, but the relaxed dress code didn't undermine the critical importance of the testing recently conducted inside the first of the Queensland Curtis LNG tanks.
The hydro test involved filling Tank B with seawater, up to the 19 metre mark over several days -- eventually holding 94 million litres of water.
Once it reached the 19-metre mark, the water was allowed to sit for 24 hours to ensure the integrity of the tank foundations.
Then members of the tanks team worked around the clock to scrub the walls with 80,000 litres of fresh water as the tank was slowly drained.
Over the next five months the tanks teams will continue to prepare the tank in readiness for first LNG.

Would love to see emergency training videos for long haul LNG carriers on road
How much water/sea water shall be pumped in for hydrotest ? Hydrotest normally done to check wether leaks avalaible on the shell&bottom of tank and integrity of foundation newly built(such: settlement). Then continuing with N2 purging to remove all oxygen
