Its so nice your own workshop is growing. I had nice tools when I was working and got angry when the other techs wanted to borrow my stuff.

I never borrow anything, that is how it gets missing or breaks.

Did you use any lubricant when honing?

Yes, I used wd40.

Hope it works out for you to do the job oh honing out the cylinder instead of a machine shop

The cylinder was still within spec, all I wanted to do is try and remove some of the black staining. If the cylinder was out of spec or had pitting a hone would do nothing, it would have to be machined to the next oversize with matching piston and rings. I renewed the crosshatch the best I could so the new rings can seat properly.
