Testing 12v appliances for power consumption

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I test the cheap-o $9 Walmart 12v clip fan and the Road-Pro Tornado fan for how much power they really use (amps) with a junk meter I made out of salvaged stuff I pulled out of the recycling bin and the trash.

I had the Tornado fan in my Dodge 2500 and it was AWESOME! Once I got the little van and can't get the cig lighter fixed...I gave it up...kinda stupid.

NomadCrafter: Yeah those cigarette lighters... Ive had to replace all the ones in my RV. It's pretty easy to do. Its connected usually by 2 wires and twists off from behind. They are cheap... 5 or 7 dollars as I remember. I usually keep two new sets laying around just incase
