Testicular Torsion : This Is An Emergency ‼️

Testicular torsion is a medical emergency where the spermatic cord, which supplies blood to the testicle, becomes twisted, leading to a restricted blood flow. This condition can cause severe pain, swelling, and potential damage to the testicle. Urgent medical attention is crucial, as delayed treatment may result in permanent testicular damage or loss. Anyone experiencing sudden, intense testicular pain should seek immediate medical help to rule out or address this serious condition.

I have a 13 year old nephew who had this a couple of weeks ago. He was putting off telling his parents, who are both nurses, about the pain he was having because of embarrassment. The pain got severe enough he told his dad. His parents told him his situation was something not to be embarrassed about. They got him to a urologist just in time. The doctor told them that if he had waited another hour or two, he would have lost a testicle. Glad everything turned out well.

Had this years ago while crewing on a racing sailboat. Not sure how it happened, some odd movement, knew very quickly that something was wrong. The gentleman I was sailing with asked me why I was not moving easily. Told him I had done something to my testicle and was in severe pain. We finished the race. When I arrived on shore I made immediate movement to the local ER. I was in a large room with lots of patients, separated by curtains. Doctor had me stand up while he manipulated my testicles to untangle the twisted one. What a relief it was to have this problem resolved. I have had a couple of similar episodes that I have been able to resolve on my own before it became too severe. Not fun, but fixable.

My ex and I were at the movies years ago and suddenly he doubled up in pain. He drove me home and I called my mom who advised him what to do till he got to hospital and then to get to a doctor ASAP. He did and whole we were there was in so much pain, when he got a room he told me who to leave his worldly goods to should he die if the operation went bad. He listed his bestie, his roommate, another girl...and left me out. Never mind that my mom and I were there for him! After he got safely out of hospital, we called it quits. Years later, I got a letter from him full of apology and praising me to the skies. Guys if a girl saves your ⚾⚾s, marry her and put her in the Will!😘

A bit of a incel aren't you? It was my MOM who worked in the field who not only told him what to do (ice pack) until he could get himself together and because she was trained, asked his symptoms and diagnosed him. She forced him to go to the hospital (he had to be basically given the riot act to go) and btw I was not expecting marriage from him, it was just a bit insulting after my family and I had helped him, he would give everything to everyone but me..and btw newsflash he was a drummer and I am a vocalist and neither of us were in The Stones, so it wasn't a money thing at all..more like a gratitude thing...most musicians are working class so maybe do not assume facts not in evidence sport! Because he was in so much pain, it was me who had him registered and seen and waited for hours! Maybe do not talk out of your crusty posterior about things you do not know 💩about incel!

I have had testicular and Spermatic Cord pain for a few years now. I have been diagnosed with a Hydrocele,Epididymal Cyst, and a Right-Sided Varicocele. I have had ultra sounds on the scrotum and the liver, Ct scans on the pelvis, MRI on the groin area, one on the Lumbar area and one of the Thoracic area. Pain is intermittent, worse at night ( does wake me up) or If I’m wearing tight jeans. What I have is Orchialgia. Just went to a spine doctor and a neurologist. What they suggested is to go to pain management and get spinal blocks for the pain.Have a follow up with the Urologist and hopefully he can perform a Targeted Spermatic Cord Block or a similar type of operation Did all the conventional treatments (Physical Therapy,NSAIDs,etc) Just wondering if any one have had these concerns and what my options are for a pain free future

In 1991 the pain was so bad i went to the emergency room . This was at a hospital that I worked at as an ICU nurse . i had to go to a different hospital 1 hour away to get it surgically fixed. I haven't had any problems except for constant pain in the same testicle. A urologist said that if they fixed it by removing the it and the nerve on that side. I didn't have it done because they said it was 50/50 of reliving the pain. Now I am 68 y/o and want to have it done. what is your opinion?

I've had testicular torsion. Quickest I've ever seen a doctor in the ER, despite it being 2 or 3 AM. Immediately taken to a room, with the annoyed look from others in the waiting room. I think I was in the OR not 30 minutes later after an ultrasound. The first doctor gave me some kind of drug, and I've never been able to find out what it was. I was standing, because it hurt less, and he told me to sit down. Luckily I did, because I'd have fallen if I was standing. Legs started tingling like crazy after he pushed the plunger on the syringe.

2 years ago I had very sudden onset pain in 1 of my testicles. I originally thought it was a kidney stone since I'd already had one about a year prior and I know the pain radiates down to the groin. But now looking back I'm thinking it may have been a torsion that corrected itself maybe, is that possible? Because I never passed a stone, and the pain was gone with medication after a few hours, whereas most kidney stones take days/weeks for pain to fully go away. Also, the hospital didn't have a CT scan, but they did an ultrasound and couldn't find a stone in my ureter or bladder. Can torsions correct themselves?

Testicular cancer is far worse. I had it. It took a couple months to diagnose correctly. It was like an ice pick or a dentists drill that came and went more frequently and more intensely, bring me to my Kees and eventually making me collapse on the floor when I got to the hospital. Two operations and 3 years of chemotherapy saved me. I’m still going 52years later. This is just a warning that your pain could be much more serious than a twisted testicle.

I had a hydrocele at 18, discovered during a physical for summer warehouse job before college.Surgery was performed to drain the hydrocele. Now at 73 I'm experiencing sporadic pain in the same testicle. My GP sent me for ultrasounds twice. The urologist said I probably shouldn't have had the operation, that was 1968. The prescribed solution is wear a jock strap when pain returns and take some pain killers. There nights I wake up with pain out of nowhere. I grab the jock strap and down a couple of pain killers... so far it's worked. I'm still able to ejaculate. Sometimes mild pain later but it usually subsides. My urologist never mentioned testicular torsion. Another male war story down below. Fingers crossed 🤞

Apparently I had an injury which created a hydrocele which I had for years until it started getting larger this last year. My urologist decided to drain it last month but still not back to normal. Might need to be removed which is a couple months down time from what I understand. Sucks because I’m a very active guy.

Occasionally I used to have such an intense pain in my right testicle that I asked my doctor to arrange the surgery and remove it. He said there is nothing wrong with my testicle and should leave it alone. I still have an occasional dull pain there and still wish they've honored my request to remove it.

Sounds like a verisole (check spelling). It's where a dull pain happens because a blood vessel enlarges on your right side. I've had it. It is benign (most times). Have a urologist check it out, though.. good luck.

I had this at ten, fifty four years ago.I’m not sure what type of surgeon did the operation. My scar is just below my waist line. At age twenty six after watching a program on self exam for testicular cancer I detected one testicle was not solid. My family doc diagnosed epididymitis. Two months later I awoke with level ten lumbar pain refractory to pain meds. Stage three testicular cancer. Very large nodes behind my stomach caused the pain. Also left supraclav nodes the size of an apple and getting bigger. Chemo cured it all.😅😅

Today on this day I don’t know if I have that. But I did have immense pain on my left testicle, and on the lower side of my abdomen on the left side.. I needed to get a CT scan. However, the only areas that were open we’re hospitals, but because my insurance will not cover it, I didn’t want to pay a large amount of money for a scan.. so I have to wait till the next day. This pain is so bad your body will create sweat. It will feel like if you have a fever, and worst of all you would feel a twist like if somebody was holding them, and squeezing them tightly. 715 2024.

I wonder how much pain do Bulls feel when their testicles are made to fall off after some time. Losing a ball is not that bad, except that you have to go into surgery under a knife. That would get rid of the extra mass that needs to be tucked under one's bottom and sometimes slips out in the front and becomes visible to bystanders. I'd rather not grow a beard if I could.

My daughter has ovarian torsion. It is actually a medical emergency but my daughter has medical ptsd and refuses to go to hospital. She has told numerous (male) doctors about it, she has not been believed, has been accused of acting, dismissed, ignored. Yet if any of those men had testicular torsion, they would be believed and treated immediately. My daughter now has suspected ovarian cancer, I wonder why? 18 months...no treatment...she is a medical miracle, but this is killing her. There is a gender disparity in medicine, and women are dying because of it. It is a well known fact that no one is taking seriously.
