    240vAC seems like it's '2 phase' however this isn't the case. 240vAC is considered single phase. The 120vAC legs come from a half-tap neutral.

    This is the first review that mentioned the previous Delta pro products and interoperability. I have the original smart home panel. Any info if you can that with the new delta pro 3? I have a 3 AC unit with a soft start and unless it’s not connected to the smart panel, it doesn’t seem to be able to run that. (I’m not confident my electrician connected it the smart panel)

    It's cool they support the older batteries for folks that invested in that system. I'm not sure about the original smart panel but if your unit is 3 ton with soft start the bigger inverter in the Pro 3 should run it because mine would work with one without the soft start. I would notice it would overload periodically because I'd also have a fridge, air handlers, etc. on it and if those were surging, it would push it over the limit.

    Not compatible with the original Delta Pro nor the original smart home panel is a dealbreaker for me. Ecoflow has abandoned the very thing (Delta Pro) that made the wildly successful, with little to no backwards compatibility for the original Delta Pro architecture. Solar is still limited to 150V which is a serious limitation as well. But it looks like ecoflow is doing the same thing they typically do --- handing these new devices to the youtube influencers to "endorse" in exchange for free equipment.

  • @todd.parker

    As I mentioned, the original Delta Pro batteries are backwards compatible with the new Pro 3 which seems like the main thing existing users would want because they can keep their investment in batteries and just upgrade the main unit for 240v power and much quieter operation. I covered the 150v limit a few times and agree it would have been better if it was 200-250v to give you more flexibility in wiring and panel choices. I'm 100% up front that I was given a free product in exchange for this video but EcoFlow didn't see this before it was posted and I cover the good and the bad in every review I do, no holds barred. You're right that you need to be aware that 90% of reviews on YT are based on free units and/or paid sponsorships so you need to be discerning of who you listen to because many "reviews" are advertisements. Cheers!

    @@todd.parker the "extra" delta pro batteries I'm told are backwards compatible but the actual Delta Pro itself, as well as the Smart Home Panel (SHP v1) is NOT compatible --- they will become a huge boat anchor. Unless of course, Ecoflow decides to push a firmware update to make them backwards compatible --- time will tell but i don't see that happening.

  • @todd.parker

    @todd.parker

    20 күн бұрын

    @@tlteal Gotcha, yeah my understanding is the SHP isn't compatible with the Pro 3.I'm honestly not super into the SHP idea because it's a proprietary piece of tech with a limited lifespan compared to something like an interlock or transfer panel. Neither is as slick but will work for a long time and works with anything. I feel for folks who invested in the original SHP and now can't upgrade.

  • @tlteal

    @tlteal

    20 күн бұрын

    @@todd.parker yep, I bought into the SHP V1 and it seems that ecoflow basically abandoned it right away. I did not make very good decisions then but I'm a lot smarter now and am moving away from "proprietary" type stuff like that and like you said, more interlock/xfer switch like any generator can use. BTW, have you ever tried to engage ecoflow support for issues like the DP smoking? If you haven't, try it as a "normal" user.... I'm outlining these things because sometimes people look like they are endorsing/supporting a company without truly understanding the workings of it, what their support tail is like, etc. Just a suggestion --- YMMV.

    @@todd.parker yes and their decision to still limit the input to 150V is ridiculous. That has been a limitation and still is. You should be able to put in a lot more power to these devices especially if you have 1 DP3 and extra batteries or it will take many many hours to recharge. These new All in one inverters are taking in 500-600V no reason why ecoflow can't do it since they're so innovative, right?
