TESTED: 2022 Specialized Turbo Levo Expert e bike - ride it your way!

Спорт

The new Specialized Turbo Levo Expert brings top end eMTB tech to more mountain bikers.
Earlier this year the popular Turbo Levo was updated to carry across many of the design cues from the Specialized Stumpjumper Pro (like adjustable geometry) and married it with their most recent technology such as MasterMind for more data, better control, and wireless firmware updates. While the new Turbo Levo was launched in the S-Works and Pro models, now the Expert model has just landed, bringing the motor, battery and carbon main frame to a lower price point. The Specialized Turbo Levo Expert sells for $15900.
Ryan Walsch goes into the finer details in his review.

    So folks know. I'm on regular gravel road at maxxing the frames weight and hit about 2100ft a single charge running full turbo the whole way through the state park. This is on a 2.1 engine too.

    Good question! For riding with extra assistance the Levo SL is great. But if you really want the extra support that the 2.2 motor gives for better self-shuttling, then the Turbo Levo is what you'll want.

    Nice review thanks.I like the adjustability We have two 2018 levo's modified with 150 cranks👍 and Mullet 👍Super quiet and reliable powerful smooth 1.3 motor .Suspension needs a bit more support. Won't be upgrading bikes until reliability is proven bullitproof for the very pricey 2022 bikes. Also have a 2020 levo comp but reliability suffered although specialized warranty is good. E=Mtb²

    @@Australianmountainbike 2018 levo's came with 175mm cranks .For me 150 cranks just gave me more confidence pedalling thru rock gardens and around corners. You have to raise the seat the amount you shorten the cranks and I like to pedal at a high cadence .I feels like my body doesn't move around as much and crank length is only a gearing thing so I can use a lower gear or a bit more motor support. Levo's have 90nm and I only need about 70nm max being only 65kg. E=Mtb²

    Were you to buy a 150/160 mm travel e bike, would you prefer the Levo over the Merida E One Sixty?

  • @Australianmountainbike

    @Australianmountainbike

    3 жыл бұрын

    Let's be clear, it's not a direct comparison given the significant price differences. However, the seamless design of the Turbo Levo and very quiet running has been excellent. Throw in adjustable geometry (if you're likely to tinker with that) and it's a great bike. The eOne-Sixty puts a few thousand back in your pocket, with just about all the same attributes, although slightly less design integration.

    Bought this bike mid year 2022. For $12k, you'd think they'd put on a quality set of brakes. Seriously, SRAM brakes suck! Bought some Shimano SLX brakes, which should've been on there to begin with. Other than that issue, I l9ve the bike. The Gen 3 motor is awesome....like an automatic transmission.
