I have one and I absolutely love it. Great bike loads of fun. I got in May 2018 as a leftover boy did I luck out,,,$6500 out the door brand new with Warranty.

Really the Z800 just got to US on 2016?? weird, I owned the 2014 version here in Mexico... Greate bike by the way

Hey! What are your thoughts on this bike? I am shopping around to see if I can get my hands on a 2016 z800 model. It looks pretty sick and the handling seems to be okay for less than 50 miles commuting and down-town riding. However, I have heard about the weight of this bike. Any suggestions?

jaimin891 it's a great bike. I own the 2016 model myself. I use it mostly for weekend rides upwards of 100kms. I've even done 600kms at one go. Comfortable riding position, not so comfortable seat - your buttons will get sore after a few hours. Heh, it's a heavy bike. You'll feel the weight I traffic or while taking tight u-turns at low speeds. And ya, he's right about the slip on. It sounds so much better bettered than one on. Couldn't be happier.

I have this bike also & agree the seat is crap! Did you upgrade your seat? If so what did you get & how much?
