Merci pour cette belle vidéo, je suis conducteur de tramways de Lille France, merci encore
Happy to see another trip from you - I'd never seen the Liverpool independent line, so something new and great! Even more of a thrill was the Claymills crossing at 13 minutes in - the Victorian building on the left is the Claymills Pumping Station that I'm part of the team restoring and running - and the car behind the motorbike at the crossing gate is mine!

Just read your comment and the other one about the storm and floods and realised I was around at the time having just got home from the Nuneham viaduct project ! The guy on the blue motorbike at claymills is me 😎 I remember wishing I'd took a snap of the test train not knowing it took one of us 😂 small world eh ?
I was that boy at Warrington bank quay at the end of platform 4 thanks for the tones mate
I’m amazed how quiet the cab is. Really enjoyed this. Thank you.

This is an amazing video, so precise and clear and I so love the scenery around the Derbyshire/Staffordshire border as it was well known to me in my rambling days in the early seventies with the CHA in Coventry. Another trip to savour and take in on wet rainy, windy and snowy afternoons in Atlantic Canada. Thank you for making my day Ben and keep up the hard earned good work you make in your productions for us avid railway buffs to enjoy.
Great video and what made it even better for some strange reason, not one advert.
The Ribble Viaduct is a disgrace, it is a grade 2 listed building but the intention seems to be to allow it to rust into the river. Such neglect should not be allowed.

They wasted so much money on HS2 that they could not be bothered to maintain existing lines - Network Rail is a disgrace, the trade unions are also too powerful
@anonthemous7437

@@michaeljohndennis2231 are you under the impression that somehow the unions want less works done on the railway, and would prefer it rot than to have jobs?
@najaB76

@@michaeljohndennis2231 False. HS2 has been funded by borrowing specifically for HS2. They didn't take money out of other pots to pay for it, which also means that cancelling Phase 2 didn't make money available for other purposes.

I imagine the North Union bridge will end up being declared unsafe and simply being demolished ( see Tramroad bridge, Southport rly School Lane Bridge and so on) - there are a lot of cast iron plate track beds over the Ribble and I cant imagine any of them being in rude health any more
As a ex Fireman/Driver I really enjoyed your video, it’s a different world out there with you lads now.Kind regards🚂🚂🚂
Great cab ride in my favorite train Class 43 Hst Thanks 🇩🇰🇩🇰
I like these British train videos, because the rain is always different

Great video, thanks for taking the time to post.😊
I was going to see the HST tour in London today, but this is a good way to spend my afternoon. Glad to see you uploading again.
Interesting, entertaining and superb quality/information. A big thanks for posting.
At last!!!! Great to see you posting again, excellent videos.
Ben nice to see you being able to post again. This is a very interesting video in that it both allows us to do a cab ride in an HST power car, but also see the aftereffects of that really bad storm tht eh UK had in the past week. The flooding is amazing and bad.
love yer work man thanks x
Quaity, interesting video. Thanks, Ben. Looking forward to the next one in your series.
A really interesting video with a fantastic route. Looking forward to other videos in this series
Excellent. Thanks for the hard work in producing the videos, much appreciated. Look forward to future videos.
Very enjoyable to watch and interesting, keep them coming A1*
You have a like and a new subscriber! Really interesting routing and a first for me was transiting the Liverpool Independent lines through Crewe. Good (timely) location captions, too. Great job! I look forward to the next one…! Best wishes from a retired S&T man (1977 - 2018).

Great film..... especially liked the Crewe independent, Earlestown/Parkside/Lowton and down slow/down goods approaching Preston....thanks.
I really enjoy your videos as I get to see places I wouldn't be able to get to
Thank you.
Excellent Drivers Eye View this Fantastic watch
Gee, I thought we'd lost you, Ben. Glad to see you back so keep 'em coming.
Fantastic video Ben, some of these unusual routings are very interesting, Crewe Independent lines and especially the one around Earlstown, by far freight traffic is the most interesting to watch, for two reasons mainly, one the slower speeds enables us to enjoy more of the rail infrastructure and secondly the unusual routings, can't wait for the next video.
Nice video Ben and nice too see my stomping ground at the green footbridge at Euxton Balshaw Lane Junction from the cab view
Ribble Viaduct (aka North Union Bridge) 1830s, I believe. Quite an engineering feat. A beautiful video. Thank you for sharing.
I adore these videos.
Cool thanks
Wow From my Local Station too Looking forward to this watching it Now
Great video.....being a local lad bit disconcerting to see the combination heading South from Derby initially given the destination, but all's well that ends well!!
Fab video Ben. I took a photo of this working at Preston that day, think the video ends some 2 or so mins before I appeared lol!
Excellent journey visually.
Great video
Excellent video, excellent diesel sound. :-)
Lovely weather, Ben! It doesn't always rain up here in the Northwest!
Excellent.
I saw this at Preston. So funny to see me on a vid
Very good.
Excellent video Ben watched part 2 first doh! Wondered where the 321's ended up after leaving my local line. Lots of lines ive never been down on cab rid video's. Thank you for posting.
Gracias Ben.

The Ribble (falling to pieces) Viaduct reminded me of the film The Cassandra Crossing - and that's not a good thing! Great to have more videos from you Ben!
In Central Trains days we signed via Castle Donington but not via Alrewas. Our diversions would not have fitted around the City Line service! Thanks for the look at the the back road.
Been needing aa cabride fix after exhausting yours and Don Coffey's vids 😅
Nice to see you back - looking forwards to watching
Welcome back
Love it
Always look forward to a Ben Elias video.
great video ben on different tracks
Thank you Ben for a really enjoyable video. Lovely cab ride. So, the Ribble Viaduct is in a bad way.
Wow didn't know you was a train driver this is cool
bit late to the watch party. but great job with the video. nice camera setup and editing. interesting part of the network. interesting diagram on a typical wet British day!
What used to be called the track recorders , squirt out red paint on an area of twist etc . Good tools , and not seeing very many patrolmen extremely necessary..great video , must take some time to sew it together . Appreciated 👍🇬🇧
Welcome Back
I drive for GWR but have always fancied doing the HST test train
I find it hard to believe this is quieter than most trains today
Loved seeing the 321s and 777(s) at Walton and the old wagons on the left
Nice to see these flying machines doing 110mph plus on test trains still! pitty they still ain't in passenger use as there is still loads of left in them!!! Nice video 🥰

Gotta love the LSL Preserved GMT Class 142 Pacer on the high Level line (R) at 01:15.20 ❤
2:19:00 I used to stand on the right to watch trains before the houses were built. A couple of times I saw some of the last 8 HST Power Cars built with APT-P test trains

I believe the construction work before the chord onto the main line at Litchfield was the HS2 underpass, that will now not be used.

That is indeed the HS2 underpass and it will still be used. It is just south of Handsacre where HS2 will join the WCML
