Does a unit like this do a better job a collimation than older Hoffman devices?

No, the PVS-31a still remains an alpha level goggle. You’re on the right track with that decision. We currently have sets in stock, feel free to call us with any questions 🤙🏼.
Other than res & gain can it test SNR and EBI?

The ANV-126a does not test for SNR or EBI. This is more of a system test set than for individual tube specs.
