I'm sooooo old that i remember AMC's ad campaign for the Pacer...It was an Italian looking "chef" sitting in the back seat making a 5 foot long sub sandwich 😅 Yes, 5' subs were a thing back then, and sold for about half what they want for a foot long today 🥴

I am surprised about the hate this car gets in the comment section. I actually love it. I just wish it had an old v8 engine in it and not an LS. I live in Canada where all our car rust away. So i wouldnt even try to drive that all year long here. But i do wish i could buy it. Too much of a project for my skill tho. But i love watching your videos. I miss driving in older car. I enjoy being taken for a ride with you.

The tinted windows help a lot, not so “fish bowly”. It looks like they chipped away at the bottom of the windshield with a hammer to make it fit😂

Many, Many years ago I passed up the opportunity to buy one for $300. Of course it needed lots of love, and I didn't think I need a project....Brings back memories...I think it needs flames though...LOL

If u sandblast the frame to see whats going on.. there would be nothing left of the frame😂

I took my drivers licence road test in one of these, stock of course, could see everything, no blind spots!.....👏

Including seat belts, fire hazard from all the seal leaks hitting the hot exhaust, rotted frame, and other things that make it a death trap.

I wonder what the thought process was when someone decided to fit that engine, it's so crazy it's almost cool😜

that LS motor would of been better off in an easy bake oven.........wait a minute......that is an easy bake oven.....

Cool car ! Not sure if Wayne and Garth are worthy of an LS swap .

When I was 16 years old, I bought one of these out of a field for 50 bucks. I think I had more fun in that old junker than anything. And I was amazed that it had a V8.

Unfortunately the suspension probably isn't built for an LS which is probably why it just doesn't get up and go but its a classic car either way 🎉

You have to be kidding me! What were they smoking, a Pacer with a V8? That's just Crazy!

Pacer looks like someone put an air fitting on and blew it up to the max! Definitely a traffic light sleeper.

I had a Pacer YEAH!!! AMC was like the BSA of American cars. Funky, full of stank and vinegar. And loved by only a very few oddballs. My neighbor had the Budweiser branded graphix pacer. I had the Levis jeans one like yours Blue , with a zipper up the side and the words LEVIS on the car. Guy couple blocks away had the KFC Chicken Pacer. I also remember a rolling rock beer /green pacer and a buncch of the budweiser ones around in the mid /late 70s early 80's I had mine all clapped out in 1982-83. I was broke and bought it for 40 dollars. It was so fricken ugly!. My wife and i were newlywed. and when shed drive it she would hold her hand over her face to hide herself from embarrassment! TRUE STORY lolz. Pacers have a funky center of gravity and a wide stance though. so they actually hadle well rain and snow too...infact VERY well in snow ice. Like a said FUNKY weird cars...AMC.

Brings back memories. My ex wife had a Pacer. It didn't have an LS it was a massive piece of crap. That aside this is a nostalgic piece of AMC histoRy. Good find

I predict a decently quick sale. Looks like a fun project - lots of people like things on the different side. It checks off a lot of boxes: LS swap completed, running and driving, mostly small details needing attention, body and paint are presentable as is, low enough price.

i always hated the looks of pacers but this one is a huge improvement with those wheels and hood :)

Someone took a clapped-out Pacer and stuck a big engine in it. I guess there were no other options available? Kind of like polishing a turd!

Cool, little car. The only thing I don't like is the hood scoop. It definitely needs to be redone cleaner with a whole new shop and hood!

My girlfriend had one it was like riding in a greenhouse

It definitely doesn't run like a ls more like a ls 1/4 but Wayne's world was cool

cool car.. it's only worth 5 or 6k with everything working

Motor is not firing on all cylinders. Perhaps six of them out of eight.

We advertise the cars as they are when we buy them, we tell everyone that and that is the biggest reason our prices are lower than everyone else’s. Needs a lot of work. They should have dropped a 390 AMC motor in it. would have bolted straight up and been more than enough power for that little thing.

It's only needs a 250 shot of nitrous and a couple of spare junkyard 5.3LS engines in the garage.

Cant remember the last time I've seen a pacer.

I was looking forward to this Pacer/LS test video. Fun Pacer fact: the passenger door is 3" longer than the driver's door (makes rear access easier on the curb side). The gas gage indicating the fill side is true on newer cars. I'll bet the Pacer had an older Chevy V8 before it got the LS. This will make a neat, easy, and fun project for the next owner, drive it and fix it up between car shows. I like your videos Nick - but I think its time to graduate beyond the cut off sleeve t-shirts.
