Bank robbers should have used '62 Impalas as getaway cars, disguised with Bel Air decklids.

Nice car! Those ‘62 bubbletops are very rare. Even if it’s a top grafted on from a ‘61, it’s still very nice.

For I have seen these cars grow up in many different ways of years of my life and I think this car is something else out side of the realm of life it self. I love it to no end.

Top has not been customized 😮 it's a bubble top. Also not an Impala.

If this really is an Impala, then the trunk lid was taken from a Bel air or Biscayne... nope, from a Bel air because of the chrome.

That is not a impala it only has 2 tail lights on each side. I would have to check the Vin numbers on the frame to verify that's an Impala I don't believe so

This custom 62 is beautiful but is it an Impala with Biscayne trunk because Impalas have 3 taillights per side and Biscayne has 2 per side like this 62 does. So is it an Impala or a Biscayne? Or is it a Impcayne or a Bispala?? Lol either one it's a beautiful car! It also has the 409 fender badges, so it needs that beautiful 409 put into the engine bay! A 409 with dual 4 barrel carbs and 4-speed baby!

If the car experienced a roll over at some point, a 61 bubble top certainly could have been used as a replacement top. So much work to convert a hardtop to a bubble top. Top, glass, glass hardware and weatherstrips would have all had to been replaced, or the doors or window frames. I did not notice a VIN tag in the video, but that could clear up the mystery.

For this year of Impala and Biscayne was one of the changes in those 2 years of production, so they made both, ingesting to see both in the same year. For the top was Impala and the bottom was Biscayne. For I do not understand why, but I do see a car that is rare and you may not see one of these again. Just my opinion, so I hope that you see what I see. A car that is rare, and lovely to boot.

This car seems to be an old race car. The 409 badge and the brake pedal is small indicating a removed clutch pedal and 4 speed tranny.

Looks like they may have had two cars and made one underneath is like new a good winter repaint project

Beautiful car, but I noticed that your prices have been creeping up slowly this year.

the 1962 Belair Biscayne and base model coupes came with the bubble top as a option also could come with a 230 6 cyl all the way up to a high powered 409 v8 from the factory

Biscaynes all had posts...Has to be a Bel Air. Chevrolet went to the formal roof in roof in 62 but had some bubble tops left over from 61. So, they used them on the Bel Air "hardtop" making this a rare model. Especially with the 409.

62 came in a bubble top also don't get me wrong. I like this car ...but it's a little hokey

Impalas have three tail lights on each side

overall not bad... big mistake in the body work between the trunk and the back window..the panel has the gap on the drivers side body filled. passenger side is ok. cheap paint job lots of runs etc. its a bisqayne, the steering wheel give it away, with an impala roof. Missing the speaker in the middle of the back seat. I like it alot. Idoling too high.

Not an impala it’s a bubble top it’s stock I know someone with a 62 bel air it has a 409

Money spent changing that roof!!! Super sweet and it will sell quick!!!

@@thekingmtmt3873 Focus between the front tires in both frames. The side views are obscured due to the lens angle, but the view between the front tires remains the same. The main difference is that 9:54 is more zoomed in without the light on. I'm sure in an unedited version you'll see him get out and grab the camera to turn the light off, adjust the angle and then try to position it back in the same spot as best he could. Send him an e-mail explaining your dilemma nicely and he may send you the unedited segment to show you why it looks so different. It never hurts to ask, right? Everyone else is more concerned about the tail lights and whether it's an Impala, Bel Air or a Biscayne....when he clearly stated several times that this is a Custom build.

Jerry had that for sake for awhile at $40,000.

It is a Impala cloned into a 62 belair bubbletop .. that’s why it’s listed this way .. If it where a true belair bubbletop it would double tha price .. excellent job done on car

I believe it’s a 61 bubble top body with 62 fenders, grill, taillights and trim.🤷🏻‍♂️I didn’t see any evidence of customization in the trunk, the trim fasteners in the trunk didn’t appear factory. The headliner was way too perfect. No extra weld seams, no nothing but different “factory” parts. Auto makers did that alot more back then, it was real easy to do. Whoever did this used a lot of thinking power and time! It’s a very nice concept! Good job. I did it with a 66 Barracuda and a 64 Dart!

1961 had completely different sculpted sheet metal on the rear quarters and doors. It's a '62 Impala with the top cut off and replaced with a '61 bubble top roof. Bel Air deck lid is fooling everybody also.

very strange car 409 emblems said 350 motor looks like a belair bubble top also buckets seats dash grab bar only on a SS not sure who built this car but their nned to do some more research before their build anolther
