12 hours?! This guy is amazing!! At 12 hours I was barely able to control my gear box. This guy didn't stall a single time, had superb mirror checks, a bit confused at roundabout signalling and didn't know/practice enough the reversing bit. When he went into the bay, he got first time, quick and without having to fix it afterwards. He's really good for a 12 hour-in learner!

I’m really enjoying these vids from Toronto Canada. Being a Driving Instructor myself for over 15 yrs I have to say first it’s really very different driving on the wrong side ( for us) and secondly the amount of roundabouts and narrow streets that you have to teach on is just insane.
These videos are a fantastic help for learners. For only 12 hours driving experience this guy is doing fantastic, I’m sure he has passed now 👍
Coming from a truck driver, i would commend this man for just 12 hours. Obviously has a fair bit of road sense. Well done sir. Hope you pass
Really enjoyed this, thanks for sharing Aman. Good luck Felix!
As a former instructor I agree with you on just about everything - especially obs and positioning - when you are reversing your rear window becomes your front windscreen - the field of vision from a mirror is restricted so everywhere else becomes a Blind Spot...! I used to go out on around 75% of my pupils tests as recommended by the DSA in Northern Ireland - Most instructors preferred not to but I found it really helped - examiners are trained to give instructions and directions in a specific way so that there is no confusion or ambiguity - examples - When you find a convenient place on the left pull over and stop...! At the roundabout ahead take the 3rd exit - it's on the right...! So when preparing a pupil for test I would use these phrases so the pupil was aware of exactly what was expected of them.....! Good video - good driver - good instructor - thanks for the upload...!
Passed my driving test yesterday after 10 hours of driving with only 2 minors! Thanks for the videos they were really helpful!

Nearly mate brilliant job on 12 hours you'll remember those blind spot checks on your actual test. 👍
12 hours and he's at this level, confidence is in abundance and that's usually what can hold people back. Felix is an extremely safe driver, that one serious doesn't change my opinion.
I Love your Smile and taking way very very good and polite..
Also this is a great video for me as someone who until watching your video didn't know how to use a clutch 😫😂😩 he seems to use his clutch and his feet better than some of your other students 💜 I've always been able to hear when gears need to be changed but never actually had to experience doing it myself.
This man! He doesn't just "understands the mechanics of the car", he understands circulation, sharing the road with other users. That is the difficult part imho, and he nailed it. Not saying he should have passed, though - a serious is a serious, and better having these in the mock test than in the actual test... but I feel like he gets it (or got it, seeing the video's date) just right! By the way, when the defrief is mainly talking about some minors and advisories, you know you have got it :)
He's got good control of the car overall and is confident for someone with 12 hours, he will do well all in all.

I past on Saturday after 13 hours of lessons...watching these videos definitely helped
Given that he only had 12 hours of instruction, this was very impressive, he clearly has a good grasp of how to drive a car and of the rules of the road, just needs to do a bit more revision of some of the basics like speed control and how to park on the left. With a few more hours he’ll ace his test, and this mock test will have done him a world of good because apart from that last park on the right and reversing right at the end he’d have passed!
Passed my tests days ago I'm happy enjoying this after
This lad drives better, than I do for sure. Good for him :D
I can't believe he failed either, failed through overconfidence and swagger, rather than being incapable, as he's clearly a very capable driver. I guess he just needs to slow down, in speed, and thought, and allow himself more time to focus on his decision making.

I’m an advanced driver of heavy vehicles and I always indicate right on a roundabout until I have passed the exit before the one I require. It’s good practice and gives entering drivers information that you intend to remain on the roundabout. In my experience it has dramatically reduced the amount of people who pull out on me.
@Grahamvfr
Жыл бұрын
I fully understand your reasoning, and as a motorcyclist I'm tempted to do the same. However if was in the right hand lane coming up to pass you (assuming 2 lanes go ahead) but heading in same direction (say ahead 2nd exit) your indicator would suggest you want move to my lane or that you are going to cut across me heading right 3rd exit. I then may brake unnecessary. But I know where your coming from with your comment.
@Edigor100
Жыл бұрын
thats so confusing to me as a german, here, you only use the indicator in a roundabout to indicate youre taking an exit. shortly before the exit you turn the indicator on to indicate you're exiting. if you're not ready to exit, no reason to indicate. if someone has the indicator on I know theyre taking the next exit so I pull out.

All problems would be solved if people wouldn’t just pull out so close in front of people and exiting from lane 2 was banned.

@@divide_guilty5440 What's this rubbish about indicating past 12 o'clock. It's not in the Highway Code. If you take the second exit at roundabout which past 12 o'clock you don't indicate until you exit the roundabout.

Pleased to see one of my local centres on the channel! This is where I did my learner test a couple years ago. It's meant to be a slightly harder centre with alternating 30/40 limits, a nearby busy stretch of dual carriageway, a spiral roundabout and funky junctions about a mile away. Felix must be doing well if he's having mocks there after just 12 hours!

I did my lessons on pretty much that exact route 7 years ago!!. I have been living away from the area for 5 years now but miss it as everyone I know still lives there 🙃. Army and Navy roundabout looks well different everytime I see it lol
I started as a beginner bought the cheapest package there was i had 5 hours on simulator and another 5 on a real car and 4h of simulator drives one with ice, one when its dark and so on. Booked a test and got it first try still really happy about it.
Passing Your practical is easy but becoming a competent driver takes years
Interesting hearing the talk at the end. I'm a bit of a car enthusiast myself but didn't have any driving practice outside of lessons or a wheel and pedals set up at home, so it took me the standard 30-40 hours I think for me to pass, as well as the fact I had to do a second test as I kerbed it right on the last corner of my first one. My thing after passing and not driving much has been approach speed to roundabouts, but I've been watching your videos to really focus on how to do that better and hopefully put it into practice once I have another car (not driven for three years, but had a refresher lesson a few weeks ago in my instructor's), or I take a refresher lesson just intensely on this topic, and maybe also slip road merging onto dual carriageways or even a bit of motorway time as I haven't driven motorways at all (I passed before it was in the learner syllabus)
12 hours in I think I was just getting onto busy roads and doing traffic lights! Good on him!! My test is tomorrow after about 50 hours, give or take.
Finished seeing this video yesterday and had my driving test today afer 9.5hr of lessons although not an absolutely new driver but not driving in UK and thas over 10years ago... I Passed with 2 minors but these were very basic minors that I guess some other examiners may think otherwise of - missed a turning but done safely, missed a gap to jump in at a junction and waited rill next opportunity. All good... thank you

He's very good for 12 hours and I'm sure he'll pass in no time! However, I think a couple of things like his hesitation on waht to do when parking left and his parking on the right tell us he might need just a cople more hours.

at the 20 minute mark with the roundabout this is often a position i find a lot of drivers doing my self included as also the police do when we dont follow the contours of the roundabout and we tend to drive just straight over. its even more so difficult when as a lorry driver we face this situation
I was about to fail my actual exam because of mirror checks. Luckily the examiner was like "so what would we do when we are moving to join a road? Something important" and I was like "oh damn, the mirrors!" Then I constantly used them nonstop during parkings and roundabouts. Now that I got my license first try I do the same but man, was I really embarrassed that moment, I always did it and almost missed it that one time
I’m Australia it’s a minimum of 50 hours driving with a supervisor and it needs to be recorded in the handbook
Omg, as an Italian watching this I freaked out on all junctions and roundabouts, because it constantly felt like he was on the wrong side of the road even if I knew he wasn't, sometimes I literally had to cover my eyes🤣🤣🤣🤣But he did really good! Calm, collected and focused. And you are very good at explaining and not making him feel guilty, or overthink what he's done while he's driving, whether it was a mistake or not. My instructor wasn't like that, sometimes, depending on the day, he would literally shout (if it went well) or insult me (if it went worse), and that just makes you panic and make more mistakes, so good job! 🥰😍😍
Im in shocked when she said he fail the test, he drove pretty well compared with other drivers learners, this just stress me out even more of my coming test T.T
One of my pupil failed his test, because a bridge was complety closed to traffic by erected steel barriers, the examiner said you should have checked for traffic on the bridge, there could have been a emergency vehicle approaching. even it was closed to traffic.
I was the same as this guy, legit after five 2 hour sessions, from a complete beginner, and I was set for my driver's test, and I passed. I'm confident that this man passed.

When she was mentioning the hands on the steering wheel crossing over it is better to cross over as you will have an idea of where your wheels are facing. If you shuffle steer then you will loose the centre of where your wheels are facing

You are absolutely Perfection hehe also an amazing driving instructor your skills are very much appreciated I try learn all I can for when I am ready to start driving my self 😙
He's going to have no problems. A generally good, confident driver.
eco driving is very important, sometimes on certain cars you can go all the way up to 4th gear and stay at the 28-29mph mark without any gas, this also saves you your leg muscles from some minor work holding the gas down. Not even accounting for fuel costs, since your engine doesn't have as many revs you maintain your engine for longer.
Thank You so much ❤️
