​@@danmyers9372 ah high altitude, that is why the Tesla beat its own record. All electric and doesn't suffer from lack of atmosphere but actually benefits from less drag as any gas car will be having less performance at high altitude.

I think those trackhawks must be Durango 392’s.

Trackhawks run 11 second 1/4 miles from the factory all day every day. I own one and drive it every day. It runs 11’s consistently. The first guy looked to be in a Trackhawk but it was not a proper run. He either let off way early or had it in the 500hp “yellow engine” mode where the full 707 Hp is not unlocked. When I first got mine it was stuck on that mode and wouldn’t give me the full power, had to have a new red key programmed by the dealer and it then unlocked the full 707hp. Totally different animal one power mode vs the other. The second one looks to be an SRT.

I think it’s the elevation playing a huge factor In these slow trackhawk times. Being a mile above sea level is definitely the issue.

Both cars jumped terribly.

That has to be the fastest Tesla 3 performance run Ive ever seen (ET and mph). The wheels dont looks stock, so there's prob weight reduction. The Trackhawk run was definitely below what's typical; I'm assuming high elevation or that was a regular SRT/392...

I saw a drag race between SRT8 and model 3 performance and SRT8 smoked it. Only on start it was loosing by a 1/2 car lenght. Later it hit the lead and won.

I rotated my wheels on my Tesla model 3 performance a few day ago. They weigh a ton! If did change them for lighter rims it would make a difference for sure!

Not sure what's up with the Trackhawks. My own Trackhawk has done 11.5 several times on the street.

This is at 5,800ft above sea level at Bandimere Speedway, Colorado. ICE cars are dogs in thin air. EV’s on the other hand are not affected by altitude.

You're right but also altitude affects forced injection vehicles much less than their NA counterparts. Not saying it's still not running at a disadvantage but it's not as bad as you'd think.

Altitude affects ICE engines immensely, as much as 3-5% power loss per every 1000 feet above sea level, so any car could be losing as much as 15-25% power. To put that in perspective, a car that normally runs 4 seconds flat at sea level will run 4.6-5 at 5000 feet above sea level. However, a tesla that runs 4 seconds at sea level will still run 4 seconds 5000 feet above sea level.

Them Trackhawks drivers took downers.

And MOST... EVs aren't doing 500 miles. Now if you want to take on model S: standard/Performance/Plaid or even to Lucid do you think the gas guzzle would win? Even then, most people don't own either of those EVs! The plus to any ICE over EV is the time to stop and charge. But I don't mind to unwind time at the stop, with family or friends and still can reap the benefits of out accelerating almost every, if not all average household cars. Even if those that own 100k plus car, and EV may beat them if not, lose by a bumper. ICE have had there place and will in their own right! But the TECH is moving forward to EVs and getting better, and will undoubtedly get better, and you get a lot of safety tech with them. Check each major car brand see whats in their coming line of new cars. Heck, just a side note the newest Aircraft carriers launch on ELECTRIC catapults vs steam! I bet soon you'll see muscle car bodies with batter packs under them.

Not like this, first off the Trackhawks both had horrible launches they didn’t know how to launch them and they’re also high above sea level which effects how much air gets into the engine with how thin the air is therefore less power and so they didn’t stand a chance especially with those drivers, street races I’ve seen the Trackhawks gap teslas.

dear tesla drivers on the roads...this is not your model 3 that everyone has...I respect the fast teslas, but there are too many people that think tesla and think all teslas are the fastest thing on the road.

Why EVs are always faster then ICE but the ICE will travel 2x as far without a fill up . my jeep gets 540 miles a tank.

EVs are the future save your gas money 😂

The Tesla is massively heavier than most gas powered vehicles. This puts an extra load on all load bearing parts and also on your wallet due to more rapid wear and tear.

The Model 3 Performance is almost 100lbs LIGHTER than my 2017 Ford Fusion Sport Twin Turbo. The Model 3 Performance is 300lbs heavier than a new mustang GT, 200-200lbs heavier than a new Camaro SS. 500lbs heavier than a new Toyota camry. So no, it is not, "massively heavier than most gas powered vehicles".
