People make the error of thinking Tesla is a car company. Yes at one level of course it is, it makes cars. However what is its’ true purpose behind the facade of making cars? It’s an AI company and that what it’s long term future is predicated on.

I worked for an auto parts manufacturer who said they were just building a new plant in Mexico for the extra business. "The US plant will not close," they said. As an engineer, I visited the plant in Mexico and saw how big it was and knew it would all go. Within a year it all went to Mexico. This company was Takata. Takata is now known for killing people due to defective airbags. They have 67 million airbags recalled.

Things to love about EVs: 1. Child battery labor 2. Range anxiety 3. Risk of garage fires 4. Paying 20k more than a comparable vehicle 5. Battery degredation 6. Poor resale value 7. Reduced performance in cold, highway 8. Higher repair costs 9. Awful charging network experiences in the weather without restrooms 10. Higher insurance rates 11. Replacing tires more frequently But hey theres a tax credit!

Toyota is in debt about 240 billion and is the most in debt company in the world. They are in debt because of how they run their R&D department. They make great cars for that reason. This is why I call them disposable cars, not much different to your cellphone, because the battery technology is the same. Also the technology changes so fast it would never be worth replacing the batteries. Unlike a classic Historic vehicle which can last indefinitely if properly maintained and repaired, The EV is destined for the rubbish tip. Because no car panel repair businesses or mechanics want to touch them, because they are not IT experts or high voltage dc/ac electrical engineers.

The Jeep Wrangler is an iconic American vehicle with a rich history and a loyal fan base. Given its long-standing presence in the market, one might expect that the Wrangler would have reached an exceptional level of quality and refinement by now, especially if the principles of kaizen, or continuous improvement, had been consistently applied. However, critics argue that the Wrangler has failed to live up to its potential, remaining an expensive yet low-quality vehicle. Rather than embracing the kaizen philosophy of gradual, incremental improvements, the Jeep Wrangler's development seems to have been marked by a series of stops and starts, with significant changes and redesigns occurring sporadically. This approach has resulted in a vehicle that, despite its popularity, still suffers from various issues related to build quality, reliability, and comfort. Some of the common complaints about the Jeep Wrangler include: 1. Poor on-road handling: The Wrangler's solid front axle and tall suspension, designed for off-road capabilities, make it less comfortable and stable on paved roads compared to other SUVs in its class. 2. Noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH): The Wrangler's interior is often criticized for being loud and prone to vibrations, making for a less refined driving experience. 3. Fuel efficiency: The Wrangler has historically had poor fuel economy, which is a significant drawback for many potential buyers. 4. Build quality: Critics have pointed out that the Wrangler's build quality lags behind its competitors, with issues such as panel gaps, interior materials, and overall fit and finish. 5. Reliability: The Wrangler has been plagued by various reliability issues over the years, which can lead to costly repairs and a lower resale value. In contrast to the Wrangler's development, had Jeep embraced the kaizen approach, they might have focused on addressing these issues systematically over time, making small but consistent improvements with each new model year. This could have resulted in a more refined, higher-quality vehicle that retains its off-road capabilities while also offering a better on-road experience. However, it seems that the Jeep Wrangler's development has not followed this path, and as a result, it remains an expensive yet low-quality vehicle compared to many of its competitors. Despite its loyal fan base and iconic status, the Wrangler's shortcomings serve as a reminder that consistent improvement and refinement are crucial for creating a truly exceptional product.
