I have ordered a Model Y in white and I was thinking that I would wrap it myself. Then I changed my mind and paid Tesla for a color. I'm glad I did. That is a tough job. You made it look easy. It came out great too.

1k for a colour from Tesla and a wrap is probably 2.5-3k.

@@Kingkee777 it depends on exactly what wrap you’re using. Some of them get pretty expensive while others are more affordable. Still a ton of work.

I found a 2 inch x 20ft. roll of Vivid gray carbon fiber wrap on Amazon. Going to try and wrap the chrome rails on the roof of my NX200T. Wish me luck!!! 🤞🏾😅

I’ve got a white model Y and think about to wrap it in full to protect against scratches and get it matte... so I have some questions :) Which film do you advise? Color white matte or just transparent matte for my case? It seems that there are different technics for wrapping: for Xpel, it needs water and not for this one... do you prefer one of these technics and why? which parts did you remove finally, only plastic parts above wheels and side cameras? Can you post the links for the tools you use in the video? Why to make a seem on the mirrors, isn’t it possible to avid it and how? I’ve seen a video with Xpel with no seem on it, how to explain it? Nice work. did you wrap the round cover, for the front pull rod, so its possible to remove it, if customer needs to get towed? i just got my car wrapped and he just covered the cover with wrap, so i cant use it now, he said, that if he did cut a hole in it and wrapped the round cover, it would not be nice to look at, and besides, no one tows a tesla in the front.

These plastic wraps are a good way to prevent accidentally getting other cars pregnant.

The masking tape? It’s to help the vinyl not stick to the panels as you wrap or tuck the vinyl into certain spots

Hey I used roughly 60ft or 20yds for this car, with no messing up. Should be enough

Where did you get the 3M wrap materials from?

For the time lapse I believe I used my Sony a7iii with a tamron 28-75mm lens. The hand held parts are with a canon g7x mark 2

I did 2 I think. One straight across and one large one over the whole thing. It takes some finessing to get it clean without pull back overtime

Hey Lam I got a question if you don't mind. I have a model Y and I removed the trim around the door but I am having issues getting the rubber back in? It is the weather trim that covers the screws to the plastic trim. What is the trick to putting this back in correctly? Thank you for your time Aloha

I had trouble too. I either installed the rubber on the trim first and then tried to carefully install it back on the glass B pillar or I used a few of my trim tools to push and wiggle the rubber back in. It’s so tideous

@@KantstandlamGarage Thanks for the reply. Yeah it took a lot of patience and I know its not in 100% correctly but the door closes, just need to make sure it doesn't leak lol. I would put the side closer to me in first than use my squeegee to push in the back rubber over the ledge. Did a pillar delete, deciding on doing a full car. Really appreciate your video on it.

60ft is plenty. Maybe even 50ft if you don’t mess up

Yes they do. They wont work if you have something like Chrome Vinyl or maybe PPF.

Did you use glue on the edges? Thinking about doing this soon

Naw I dont. You shouldnt have to as long as its not overstretched and installed properly .

Materials are around $400-600 on average. Labor all depends on the shop you take it too.
