I have the Nokian Hakkapalitta r5 on my 2019 model 3 RWD, in Alberta Canada, and it’s a beast! Rips through everything no problem. Very impressed. I have witnessed especially when I don’t have winters on the car just “cuts power” and refuses to go on certain slippery surfaces, almost like I bet it could do it but just refuses, but that’s only when I didn’t have winters tires. Can barely make the car slip, great winter vehicle.
Seems like the conclusion is... Rwd or awd you cant get away from getting good winter tires.
You convinced me to get a all wheel drive model Y because of the snow.

I'm from Alberta Canada and that was my thinking when I bought my Mod 3 long range. I installed good Michelin All weather tires on. Really nice combination and no real issues with traction. We've had some pretty brutal temps lately. -45c with windchills into the -60c range. I charge at home and have had no issues. Fun comfortable reliable car. No regrets. Just plan accordingly.

@@davidwebber8356the challenge is usually going up hills. Awd helps and a good set of winter tires.
great video, that's actually pretty impressive for RWD only version. It would be great if you can let us know how fast you were going through the streets, 25?

Yes most was 25 MPH some areas a bit slower.
How about snow chains?

These were stock all seasons, if you plan to do regular snow driving with the RWD snow tires definitely recommended.
What camera and mount are you using out side the car?

Insta360 x2 3D cam and It is a hodge podge of a mount starting with a Go Pro Suction mount and then the insta360 pole.
